That wraps up our coverage of the England One Day Cup 2023 final. It was an intense clash between Hampshire and the Leicestershire Foxes, with Leicestershire emerging as the champions, winning by a slim margin of just 2 runs.

As we bid adieu to this enthralling tournament, we invite you to stay tuned for more exciting cricketing action from across the globe. It's been an absolute pleasure bringing you the live commentary and analysis. This is Hitesh Peddurwar, alongside my co-commentator Saipavan Janaki and our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma, signing off.
Until we meet again, take care and stay safe!

The celebrations🎇 begin here at Trent Bridge, Nottingham as the Leicestershire Foxes skipper receives the trophy🏆!!!!!
Lewis Hill (Leicestershire Skipper): "Yeah I think we probably did it last time but now. (Hull) He is fantastic this year and comes back well and proud moment for his parents. We have all forms of cricket and we did it.  (Harry and Sam)They are great batters and show their character and that (Harry's innings) is one of the best innings as I say. Absolutely we defended the targets this year well and all bowlers know their plans and they are fantastic. Yeah, the last 8-9 years we had a darker side, and everybody this trophy for you Leicestershire. Will celebrate tonight."
Nick Gubbins(Hampshire Skipper): " Yeah, its a shame, the boys are hurt. But all credit goes to Harry Swindells for the way he played, we could have chased down the total but we failed. We made the right decision to bowl first, we could have defended it. At the half way stage we were right in the chase. The scorecard tells the story, as the boys went out in the middle and didn't score a big hundred and that cost us. All the 11 players that were today, were pretty good. We have a young side and we would be competing really well in the upcoming years."
Player of the Match | Harry Swindells: "Special day and loved great people and spent little time and credit to all team mates and all club. Congratulations to everyone. Definitely fans are special and they made the day today. No pretty calm in the hut and we had full confidence and we did it. (Partnership with Sam) definitely, we tried to work in blocks and try to take the game deep. I think we are under pressure when four wickets early and stay calm and take every ball from behind the stumps. Yeah, it is pretty crazy me and my family in the club, thanks for this."

Time for the post tournament presentation ceremony!!!
22:50 IST, 18:20 Local Time | What a sensational game we were treated to today! The England One Day Cup 2023 finals had us all on the edge of our seats. In the end, Leicestershire Foxes emerged as the champions 🏆, winning by just 2 runs. 8 runs were needed in the final over and the 19-year-old Josh Hull has defended it for Leicestershire.

Earlier in the game, Leicestershire won the toss and chose to bat first, but their innings got off to a rocky start, losing four crucial wickets within the opening seven overs for just 19 runs. Lewis Hill and Louis Kimber stabilized the innings somewhat with a 37-run partnership for the fifth wicket, followed by a 33-run partnership between Hill and Sam Evans for the sixth wicket. Hill played a valuable knock of 42 runs off 57 balls.

The turning point came when Harry Swindells and Sam Evans combined forces to form a remarkable 151-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Swindells was the star, scoring an unbeaten century with 117 runs from 96 deliveries, featuring 8 fours and 3 sixes. Evans also contributed significantly with 60 runs. Leicestershire finished their innings at 267/7 in their allotted 50 overs.

Despite an impressive start, Hampshire's bowlers couldn't fully capitalize, with Scott Currie and Keith Barker both taking three wickets each, while Ian Holland claimed one.

While chasing a target of 268 runs, Hampshire faced early setbacks, losing a couple of wickets. The openers managed a 34-run partnership, but the momentum was disrupted when skipper Nick Gubbins (20 runs off 24 balls) was run out in the 8th over.  In the very next over, Wiaan Mulder shattered the stumps of Fletcha Middleton (15 runs off 24 balls).

The responsibility then fell on the shoulders of Tom Prest and Ben Brown, who diligently rotated the strike and maintained a steady run rate. They built a solid 79-run partnership for the third wicket. However, Hampshire's fortunes took a turn when Chris Wright dismissed Ben Brown (33 runs) in the 24th over. This wicket swung the game in favor of Leicestershire Foxes, as Hampshire lost a few quick wickets during the middle overs. Tom Prest, departed after playing a good knock of 51 runs.

The onus then shifted to Liam Dawson and Joe Weatherley, who took charge and built a mature partnership of 82 runs for the sixth wicket. Joe Weatherley played an important knock of 40 runs before his exit, leaving the responsibility solely on Liam Dawson, who was later joined by Ian Holland in the middle. Ian Holland departed after playing a short cameo of 16 runs.

Liam Dawson took the game all down to the wire, the game was in the court of the Hampshire until the last over as 8 runs were needed in the final over. Josh Hull got rid of Liam Dawson on the 4th ball of the final over and it shattered the hopes of Hampshire. Liam Dawson departed after scoring 57 runs and in the end, Hampshire fell short of the target by 2 runs.

From a bowling point of view, Wiaan Mulder, Chris Wright, and Josh Hull scalped a couple of wickets each for Leicestershire.

It was a roller coaster ride for both teams, in the end, it was the Leicestershire Foxes who held their nerves and got over the line. They are crowned as the champions 🏆 of One Day Cup 2023!!!!

1 What a nail-biting finish! Hull's heroics in the last over, defending 8 runs, have secured a dramatic 2-run victory for Leicestershire. Yorker length delivery on the middle and leg stump line, Keith Barker waits back inside the crease and drills that towards the midwicket for a single. This game has been an absolute thriller, with both teams fighting tooth and nail till the very end. Congratulations to Leicestershire on their remarkable win in the England Domestic One-Day Cup 2023 final.

Damn!!!! What a game we are witnessing here at the moment!!! The game is going all down the wire and Hampshire need 5 runs off 2 balls.

W IN THE AIR AND TAKEN!! WICKET!!! Fuller length delivery on the leg stump line, Liam Dawson shuffles across and goes for the scoop shot. The ball goes up and finds a fielder in the deep, the fine leg fielder settles down and takes this catch easily.
