Bio
Harry Swindells, another wicketkeeper-batter, who represents Leicestershire CCC. He is a graduate of Leicestershire academy and signed a contract with the club in 2017, after winning selection for England Under-19s.
Born in Leicester, Swindells played the majority of his club cricket at Narborough and Littlethorpe, later moved to play Premier League cricket with Leicester Ivanhoe. The keeper performed regularly for his club’s Second XI.
With the presence of Lewis Hill, in the First XI, Swindell hasn’t got enough opportunities to stamp his real authority, at the senior level. However, the keeper-batter made his debut for Leics during the 2018 Royal London One-Day Cup. Later in the season, he made his T20 debut in the NatWest T20 Blast. The following season saw Swindells some sensational knocks, especially in the shortest format.
The Leicester-born’s performances in the NatWest T20 meant Swindells got his due Championship cap. He made his first-class debut against Lancashire in 2019, but he didn’t enjoy much with the bat. In 2021, the keeper-bat scored his maiden Championship hundred against Surrey. Hill, still, in the club set up, the talented Swindells isn’t getting enough chances to play for Leicestershire.
