Australia clean-sweep the ODI series and now the action shifts to Hobart where the T20I series begins on Friday. It will be an exciting series that one.

For now, it's time for me, Akshay Bhide, to sign off, on behalf of scorer Zeeshan Naiyer. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. Until next time, cheers and goodbye.
Steve Smith collects the trophy and his teammates join him and pose for the photographers. All smiles as they whitewash West Indies in the ODI series.
Steve Smith (Australia Captain): “It was a good performance. The boys put the ball in the right areas and it worked out. It was one of those days when everything came off.

It’s been a good opportunity to expose a few guys to international cricket. Xavier bowled the new ball well. Swung it both ways. Jake is an exciting prospect right.

(Selection headache) I’m not sure. There are plenty of guys that can go up there and get a whack. The boys have done well to put the ball in the right areas and did a fine job."
Shai Hope (West Indies Captain): “Not sure if we can. But our batters let us down in this series. We have to know what needs to be done in different situations.

I can’t put finger on one thing. There are a few things. But the mindset is important. We didn’t bat well enough.

I think most of the guys got starts. Keacy played some good innings and he can take confidence from it. We have to take positives.

Different format and definitely we will try to turn it around in the T20I series."
Xavier Bartlett (Player of the Match & Player of the Series): “Yeah. Pretty insane. Great to have the taste of international cricket. It was amazing. It was good to contribute in a way.

Obviously, there was pressure there. But I tried to enjoy a bit there and happy to pick wickets. Keep attacking and set some great fields to get that last wicket. It swung nicely and it worked in my favor. You really can’t get past that first wicket.

Amazing. Obviously, a part of the group with so many debutants, it’s pretty surreal. Everyone has played a part. Queensland cricket has played a massive part and a big thanks to them."

Jake Fraser-McGurk: "It's good to have the same belief that I can do at this level. To come up with a 3-0 series win is even better. The support that I receive from the support staff and the management is great.

The talk was about to holding the shape while playing the shot before the match. I didn't get much balls in that area today but nice to play some strokes freely today.

Not at all. You just have to take the situation into account. In the Big Bash, you have the four over powerplay and the power surge. But it's not the same case here. It must be nice to play till the 10th over and take things forward from there."
12:06 PM IST, 5:36 PM Local Time: That’s it. Australia continue their domination in ODI cricket as they thump the West Indies by 8 wickets in the final game of the series. The Windies never turned up in the series and have been clean-swept by the World Champions. Australia have now won 12 consecutive ODIs and also grab a win in their 1000th ODI. This is also the shortest completed ODI in Australia.

Chasing a paltry total of 87, Australia got off to a solid start, thanks to Josh Inglis who played some outstanding strokes. He along with Jake Fraser-McGurk kept scoring at a brisk rate. They brought up a fifty-run stand between them in the fourth over. Fraser-McGurk scored 41 off just 18 balls before falling in the fifth over. His knock comprised five boundaries and three maximums.

Aaron Hardie was promoted up the order at three but it was a short stay for him as he edged one to the keeper to depart on two. Inglis and skipper Steve Smith completed the formalities as they remained unbeaten on 35 and six respectively to take Australia across the line in just 6.5 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Earlier, West Indies were asked to bat first and they lost Kjorn Ottley (8) early in the innings. Alick Athanaze along with Keacy Carty led the recovery work. Both put 25 between them before Carty (4) fell in the 11th over. Skipper Shai Hope (4) and debutant Teddy Bishop (0) fell in quick succession. Roston Chase joined Athanaze at the crease who was looking good but holed out in the deep on 32.

Athanaze’s departure led to a collapse as none of the lower-order batters got going. Chase fell on 12 and the Australian bowled brilliantly to knock over West Indies on 86 in just 24.1 overs. Xavier Bartlett was the standout bowler for Australia. He picked up four wickets and conceded 21 runs in his 7.1 overs. Lance Morris and Adam Zampa also grabbed two scalps apiece. Their batters then chased down the paltry total in just 6.5 overs to complete the whitewash.
6.5 O Thomas to S Smith
2 Good length delivery outside off, Smith shimmies down the wicket and drives it on the up wide of mid off for a couple of runs. That's enough as Australia completely destroy the West Indies. They win the game by 8 wickets and clean sweep the series.
6.4 O Thomas to S Smith
0 Back of a length delivery around off, Smith defends it off the backfoot and gets an inside edge on his pads.
6.3 O Thomas to S Smith
4 Smashed by Smith and he is off the mark with a boundary. A tennis shot from Smudge. Thomas bangs it short outside off, Smith advances and plays the forehand smash through covers for a boundary. He even gave himself some room to play it through the off side.
6.3 O Thomas to S Smith
WD Short from Thomas but down leg and Smith misses the pull. Wide signaled by the umpire.
