This brings us to an end of a doubleheader Saturday. Do join us tomorrow for the solitary clash between Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings. Till then it's ta-ta and goodnight from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentator Karthik Raj and analyst Probuddha Bhattacharjee.
Lockie Ferguson, Player of the Match- Was one of those nights and with the kind of bowling partners I have, makes things very easy for me. It's great (to have a potent bowling unit) and helps to spread calmness in the group. The pressure was coming from both ends with the ball and it worked for us. I think it (bowling extra fast) is more of an instinct thing. There was a lot of bounce in the surface and I was looking to bang away on that hard length. Some gripped and it worked for me with Rishabh's wicket. Was a good all-round performance from the bowlers. Hardik is always giving us confidence to play the game that we want to play and it's nice to have a captain who trusts your skills.
Hardik Pandya: Really happy with the way boys are coming out and contributing. With the kind of bowling attack we have, it will be possible to make the target look 25 runs more than it actually is. I thought there were periods were Delhi were ahead, but then that Lockie over really changed things for us. To be honest, I felt we were 10 or 15 runs short. Thought par was 180 or 185 but with the bowling attack we have, I fancied our chances of defending. Till Rishabh was there, the game was in the balance or maybe Delhi was ahead, and that over from Lockie really turned it for us. Varun Aaron felt something happened to him and we had to take it deep. The kind of courage Tewatia and even Vijay showed (They were not told they will have to bowl), they stepped up and helped us win. This is the Shubman we all wanted to see and hopefully the other batters can take confidence from him
Rishabh Pant wins the On the go 4s of the match award for smashing seven boundaries during his knock.
Lockie Ferguson wins the Swiggy Instamart fastest delivery of the match award for clocking 147.8 kph in one of the deliveries.
Shubhman Gill wins the Upstox Most Valuable Asset of the Match award. He will certainly need a big kit bag.
Lockie Ferguson wins the Cred Powerplayer of the match for his spell of 2/2 in the powerplay.
Shubhman Gill also bags the Unacademy Let's Crack it Sixes Award.
Shubhman Gill is also the Dream11 Game Changer of the Match for scoring 116 fantasy points. It was such a classic display of batsmanship. All timing, poise and elegance.
Shubhman Gill is the Punch Super Striker of the Match. His highest score in T20 cricket. He played some lovely shots all around the wicket. He only played 6 dot balls in that innings.
Time for the Post-match presentation ceremony!
Rashid Khan- Enjoying my time so far. Good start with two wins. So far so good. I am trying to contribute as much as possible for the team's cause. I think a bit of dew. I don't mind that to be honest. Good condition. The length was very crucial in the wicket. If you miss your length it becomes easy for batters to score here. I think first over I tried few different grips to see which one is right one. Later on few good shots played by the DC batters which really hurt me. Overall it was a good contribution.
Rishabh Pant: "According to the pitch, the total was not so big! We could have batted better especially during the middle overs. It is going to be hard to come back every match after losing so many early wickets. We have a match to play in Mumbai, so we are thinking about that now. When we have to play again in Pune, we will think about the weather conditions and dew. (About Ricky Ponting) He has been fantastic from Day 1! When you are on the losing side, you feel heartbroken. However, we can improve in the next match."

Arya: Earlier in the day it was the DC skipper Rishabh Pant who won the toss and put Gujarat Titans in. They lost an early wicket in the form of Mathew Wade as Mustafizur Rahman struck early. However from there on it was a Shubhman Gill show on display. He started off with brilliant shots on the up and then waited for a bit when wickets fell at the other end and when there was a partnership going, he put his foot on the accelerator and smashed the DC bowlers all around the park.

The best thing with Gill’s knock was he hardly tried to play any slogs. He batted with composure and tried to play straight. Some of his sixes oozed class as he raced off to 84 in 46 deliveries, an innings which was laced with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Hardik Pandya anchored the innings around with a knock of 31 of 27 deliveries while it was David Miller and Rahul Tewatia who struck some lusty blows in the end overs to take their side to a more than competitive score of 171.

Arya: Hardik Pandya introduced himself into the attack with the new ball and didn’t disappoint. He picked up the wicket of dangerman Tim Seifert in ther very first delivery of the over. He bowled with venom and if there was a question mark over his fitness, it has been put to rest. Lockie Ferguson was the star of the show as he bagged two wickets in his very first over and then came back in his second spell to bag two more in his 3rd over. He bowled with hostility and the DC batters had no answers in front of his fiery spell of fast bowling.

Lalit Yadav and Rishabh Pant shared a very good partnership to bring DC back into the game after three quick wickets. Both the batters batted sensibly and struck the boundaries at crucial junctures to not allow the required rate to creep up. Lalit Yadav was run out against the run of play. Pant kept playing some big shots but ended up giving his wicket away cheaply to Lockie Ferguson in his 2nd spell.

With so many wickets falling at regular intervals, it became a mountain too steep to climb for the Delhi Capitals. With 29 required of the final 3 overs, Mohammed Shami was given the ball and he didn’t disappoint. He picked up Rovman Powell very first ball and backed it up with the wicket of Khaleel Ahmed the very next delivery and from there on it was a bridge too far for them.

Arya: What a sensational bowling performance by the Gujarat Titans as they register their 2nd victory of the competition in as many matches. The target of 172 could have been a tricky one for the Delhi Capitals had they lost early wickets. Prithvi Shaw started off with a beautiful backfoot punch which yielded a boundary.
