Alex Hales (Man of the match): It has been a tough start in the tournament for me personally, cashed in on the powerplay and went through with it after it. I am not thinking about the World Cup but have been focusing on performing well, will leave the rest to the selectors. Will we look to continue to build on from here and climb up on the points table.
Arjun: That is it!!! Alex Hales did it on his own. His 91 up front was enough to stifle Derbyshire at their home ground. The fans were treated with runs, wickets, and boundaries but Hales' flexing was just leagues away. The Englishman was class apart from the rest he thumped away in a knock where he found his groove back. He nearly went past Chris Gayle's world record of the fastest T20 century and nearly surpassed Andrew Symonds' feat of the fastest Blast hundred, but it wasn't meant to be him.
He might have missed on those mileposts but his 91 off 33 deliveries has helped Nottinghamshire seal the deal, before Samit Patel and Tom Moores took them home.
Earlier in the day, Derby too batted beautifully, especially their captain Shan Masood and his partner in crimes - Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen. However, no one apart from them could contribute in the first innings as they saw one of the worst collapses in the history of the Blast - losing the last seven wickets for just 20 runs.
