So a disappointing end from Trent Bridge! But we will be back again tomorrow with other Blast matches. For now, this is AkshayaKrishna Polya who is signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Tugral Azmi and Dhanush Lavanya who alongside our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar brought you all the live actions from this fixture. Until next time, it's cheers..!!
Dhanush:  After a 30 minute rain delay, Nottinghamshire Outlaws came out to bat as the visitors Northamptonshire chose to bowl after winning the toss. The Nottinghamshire top order struggled to score runs in the powerplay on a pitch with uneven bounce. They lost big wickets of Joe Clarke, Alex Hales and Ben Duckett who scored majority of the runs in the first match. Notts were reduced to 38 for 3 after 6 overs and were scoring at a below par run rate.

Tom Moores and Samit Patel stitched in a good little partnership and brought the innings back on track. Moores got out when he was looking set. But, Samit Patel on the other side continued the carnage as he struck a wonderful half century taking Notts past 100.

Matt Kelly's back-to-back wickets of Samit Patel and Steven Mullaney in the 17th over put the speed breaker to the innings of the Notts. Samit Patel was the highest scorer for the the batting side with his 63 off 44 deliveries, including eight fours and two maximums.

The skipper of Nottinghamshire Dan Christian struck a six off Greame White's last ball in his final over (18th of the innings) before the players walked back to the pavilion due a pour down from the heaven. Notts were 140/6 when the rain decided to step up it's falling rate.

Matthew Kelly was superb with the ball for Northamptonshire with his spell of 4-0-29-4. The rain didn't stop at all and this persistent rainfall made the match officials to call off the game. Two teams shared a point each!!
1:18 AM IST: MATCH ABANDONED!! One point each for Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire
Akshaya: Looks like the first innings is done now!! We have to wait for the official update though!! The rain is pouring down at the moment. And this isn't looking great because we already lost half an hour at the very start of the match due to wet outfield. With this pour down one thing I am sure that Nottinghamshire Outlaws' innings would be curtailed at 18 overs (140/6).
12:44 AM IST: Rain is getting heavier and heavier now. Umpires are taking the players off the field now. The covers are on the pitch now. We will have some more delay now. For now, RAIN STOPS PLAY!

16.5 M Kelly to S Mullaney
W WICKETTT!!! Is there a tiny little inside edge on that? Yes, the umpire thinks so!! Fuller length delivery on the fourth stump line. Mullaney clears his front leg and goes for a across the line heave. He does try it but the ball takes the tiny little inside tickle on it on the way through to the wicket-keeper. Huge appeal and the umpire gives it out. Two set batters are out now. Matthew Kelly has a four-for now!!
16.4 M Kelly to S Mullaney
0 A brilliant yorker right of the crease line on the off stump line. Mullaney does well to get a bat on it as he digs it out towards silly point area.
16.3 M Kelly to D Christian
1 Length delivery on the stumps line. Christian on the front foot works it to wide mid on area for a single to get off the mark.
