So that's it from the qualifier. Do join us for the finals of this wonderful tournament on Thursday as the Jaffna Kings will be taking on Galle Gladiators. For now, this is me Ajay Ahire signing it off along with my Co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Ayan Chatterjee. Until then stay safe and stay cool...
Thisara Perrera (Winning Skipper): " I am really happy today with the way our batters batted. There was pressure after losing the first playoff. As a unit, everything was done really well. The final is just another match. My boys did a really good job today and hope they can do well in the finals."
Niroshan Dickwella (Losing Skipper): "We backed ourselves to bowl first and we backed the decision. The bowling and the fielding let us down. It was a bad day in the office and everyone made mistakes. The bowlers couldn't execute well either. 180 would have been a good total to chase down on this wicket. On some days we batted well and on some days we bowled well too. On crucial days, we let ourselves down in pressure games. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the fans and the sponsors."
Avishka Fernando (Player of the Match): "I am extremely pleased with the hundred. I was slightly disturbed after the last game, but I did better here."
The Player of the Match goes to Avishka Fernando.
That's the match and the Jaffna Kings are through to the finals here. A thumping victory for them in this Qualifier as they beat Dambulla Giants by 23 runs. So it will be Galle Gladiators versus Jaffna Kings in the Finale of this year's Lanka Premier league and both the teams will be facing each other for the fourth time. An all-around performance from the Kings sealed the victory. Chamika Karunaratne fought hard in the end but that wasn't enough for them.

Chasing 211 will always gone be challenging for the Giants but they started off pretty well and with a good run rate in the first 3 overs. Then Phil Salt was the first to depart as he was dismissed on the score of 22 from 11. Soon after the departure of Salt his opening partner and skipper Dickwella lost his wicket on the score of 18 on the bowling of Theekshana. Weerakkody in at number 3 send up the order to score some quick runs but he scored only 12 runs and lost his wicket at the crucial time.

The young sensation of Dambulla Giants Janith Liyanage failed to make an impact today as he was dismissed on the score of 1. Zadran slashes his blade for a few hits but he can't continue with that and was eventually dismissed by Hasaranga on the score of 21. Ramesh Mendis was dismissed on a three-ball duck by Jayden Seales. Chamika Karunaratne scored brilliant 75 runs from 47 balls but those runs weren't enough for the Giants as he was short of the partners in the end. And rest of the lower order was blown away quickly by the Kings and got the victory here by 23 runs.

With the ball, the spin duo of Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga were brilliant as they shared a couple of wickets between them and kept the run rate in check. Jayden Seales was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets in his 4 overs spell. Thisara Perera also picked up a couple of wickets but he was very expensive in his 4 over spell.
Stay tuned for the presentation....
Ayan: So, it will be Galle Gladiators vs the Jaffna Kings for the 4th time this season, but this time in the final. Too much to do for the Giants in the end despite the late heroics by Chamika. Brilliant from Avishka and Gurbaz at the top. Avishka with the first 100 of the tournament.
