That brings down the curtains on our live coverage of this first WT20 International between India Women and Bangladesh Women here in Sylhet! For now, it's Soumarya Dutta, taking your leave on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and Scorer/ Analyst Yogesh Kumar. See you soon!
Harmanpreet Kaur ( India Women Captain)- Our bowlers did a great job today and they took the responsibility to give us the win! We showed some intent while batting but in the last six overs things didn't go according to our plans. We know how the pitches will behave and we will be looking to execute our plans better in the next few games. We discussed that while bowling we will have to but some extra pressure on the opposition batters. The bowlers picked up some wickets in the first six overs, and that set the tone for us.
Renuka Singh Thakur (Player of the Match): "The pitch is going to help me and I understood that and bowled accordingly. Difference was that the ball swung in the powerplay while we have to use variations in the death overs. That is the difference. Harman kept it simple. Keep it simple and start executing the plans well. That is my aim. Thank You."
Renuka Singh Thakur is the Player of the Match.
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "I think in the powerplay. How we batted it was not there. We lost wickets and chasing 140+ you need a good start. The top order is not working. I think they started well. We pulled it back and that was the positive for us. The thing is we need to be confident and play positively in the next game. Hope they play positively and showcase their talent in the next game."
Time for the presentations.
Renuka Singh Thakur (India Women): "Feeling good. Taking wickets after a long time and getting back into rhytm. When the second innings started the conditions were better for bowling. My aim is to bowl stump to stump in the end. Definitely. It's a good preparation for us going into the World Cup. We will know how to bat and bowl in these conditions come the World Cup."
18:42 IST and 19:12 Local time- Bangladesh Women end up with a paltry 101/8 in their 20 overs! India Women have won the first WT20I by a comfortable margin of 44 runs and it has been an incredible bowling effort from them to restrict Bangladesh to a low total. Nigar Sultana, the Bangladeshi skipper was the only one who put up a fight with a 50 but the rest of the batters, failed to make any notable contributions.

Bangladesh had a disastrous start to the powerplay as they lost a wicket in the very first over of the innings! Murshida Khatun played a few shots but she was soon dismissed by Deepti Sharma and it was followed by the wicket of Mostary. Bangladesh Women struggled in the powerplay as they lost three wickets and Pooja Vastrakar came back in the attack to make it four!

Nigar Sultana , the Bangladesh skipper was trying to stitch together a fightback along with Shorna Akter was the pressure of the run rate was mounting on the hosts. Akter perished eventually for a slow knock of 11, and Rabeya Khan followed her soon after. The spin tri of Shreyanka,  Deepti and Radha Yadav spun a web around the Bangladesh Women batters.

For India Women, it was a team effort as the seamers and the spinners did really well. Renuka Thakur was the pick of the bowlers as she picked up three wickets. Vastrakar too was equally good as she got a couple of scalps. The three spinners, Shreyanka, Deepti and Radha were extremely miserly as they barely gave anything away and grabbed the game for India Women in the middle overs where they created the pressure on the hosts.

19.2 P Vastrakar to N Sultana
W WICKET! BOWLED HER! Full and straight angling in, Sultana makes room to go leg side and exposes the stumps. The ball goes through to clatter the stumps. Vastrakar gets her second wicket as Sultana departs for 51. 8 down now. Checking the no ball and she is fine just about. Sultana has to walk back to the hut.
