A thumping victory for the Knight Riders as they bash Luckow Super Giants in their final home game at Ekana, moving to the top of the points table. The caravan moves to Mumbai tomorrow as MI take on SRH in a mouth-watering contest.

For now, I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Sidharth Gulati, Ajay Pal Singh and Deepak Prakash, who, alongside our scorers/analysts Raju Khariya and Manish Bishnoi. We will be back with another banger. Until then, it's cheers!
Lucknow Super Giants take a lap of the ground to show appreciation for their fans in their final home game.
Sunil Narine equals Andre Russell's record for most Player of the Match awards for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Both West Indians have won the award 15 times.
Sunil Narine (Player of the Match): "I think the most important thing is starting well, and once you have the backing of the support staff, you can't ask for more. So you just have to try to continue giving the team a good start. And it's been working, so hopefully it can work for the rest of the tournament.

I think you have to play to your strengths and decide what approach you'll take on a given day. You have to be selective about the balls you'll go after and the ones you won't. And you have to try to approach it as intelligently as possible. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Right now, it's working for me, so I'm just enjoying it. I think it's going very well. With Varun picking up wickets, he's making my job a lot easier. I just come in and try to keep it as tight as possible. So I think he's doing great. He's a hard worker and always strives to improve.

I think the boys are fired up and ready to go. They're eager to play cricket and perform well, regardless of the situation. They take on any challenge and strive to come out on top. So I think it's crucial that they want to contribute even in the toughest times."

Shreyas Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders Captain): "For the last six matches, there is havoc in the dressing room, players coming to me and asking skipper what is happening why are we not winning the toss. We have to be flexible in terms of right and left-hander at the crease as it keeps the pressure on the opposition."

"Spoke to Sunil Narine when he got out, he said 200 looks a good total on this pitch, anything we get after that is a bonus."

"Absolutely, there is no pressure on youngsters. We want them to go out there and express themselves, no matter what the situation is and it is working for us."

The openers have been fabulous. The way they are playing is pure bliss. The starts they have been giving us, I am hoping they keep giving us such results in the upcoming games as well.

140 vs RCB, Bengaluru, 2008

11:32 PM IST and Local Time: We are ready with the post-match presentations...
Harshit Rana (Kolkata Knight Riders): "Thank you, we wanted to leave nothing behind and were looking to make our qualification easy. Our coaches told us to hit hard lengths and that is what we did.

Worked a lot on my bowling. When Andre Russell comes to bowl in the middle and takes wickets, it becomes easy for the rest of the bowlers."
KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants Captain): "Yeah, I think there were too many runs to be scored in the second innings. When you're chasing a big total, you tend to go too hard, and as a result, you end up losing wickets. So, yeah, just a poor performance overall.

I think Sunil Narine and Phil Salt in the powerplay, we've seen how they bat, and they do put a lot of pressure on our young bowlers. They just couldn't handle that kind of pressure. Narine hit some really, really good shots, and that's how the IPL is. You come up against some really good players, and that's when your character is tested.

The wicket was really good. It felt like a pretty true wicket. There was a bit of bounce if you bowled hard lengths and back of lengths, but nothing out of the ordinary. It didn't seem like a pitch that was really bad. I think 235 was probably 20 or 30 runs above par. And yeah, our batting performance, again, like I said, was really poor. But again, when you're chasing such a big score under pressure, it's always hard.

We prepare well in advance, discussing the opposition batters and strategies with the players. However, our execution was off this time. We need to learn from our mistakes quickly. Facing batters like Sunil Narine showed where we went wrong. Moving forward, we'll analyze our errors and aim to improve. We have three games ahead, and winning all of them is crucial for a top-four spot. That'll give us more freedom and confidence."
23:17 IST and Local Time | That's it. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) register a comprehensive 98-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The two-time champions have one foot in the playoffs. LSG's NRR (Net Run Rate) has taken a massive hit. What they need are a couple of big wins to confirm a spot in the final-four.

Chasing a colossal target of 236, LSG lost Arshin Kulkarni early. The LSG opener was removed by Mitchell Starc, courtesy an awe-inspiring effort in the field by Ramandeep Singh. KL Rahul and Marcus Stonis then got a partnership going, but once the LSG skipper departed, things went downhill for LSG, who kept losing wickets at regular intervals. There was turn on offer for Sunil Narine and Varun Chakaravarthy, and the two kept things tight. Andre Russell took two crucial wickets of Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran and that all but ended LSG’s hopes. Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana grabbed three scalps each as LSG were bundled out for 137 in 16.1 overs.

Earlier, after being asked to bat, KKR posted a mammoth 235 - highest T20 score at Ekana. In fact, it turned out to be the maiden 200-plus total at the venue. Narine and Phil Salt got KKR off to a flying start and the duo stitched a fifty-plus stand for the sixth time this season. Salt fell for 32 off 14 balls, but his dismissal hardly had an effect on his opening partner who continued the fireworks. Angrish Raghuvanshi supported Narine as the latter notched up a 27-ball half-century. Narine was handed chances off consecutive deliveries before Ravi Bishnoi eventually got the better of him for 81(39). Later, Ramandeep Singh’s unbeaten 6-ball 25 and skipper Shreyas Iyer’s 23 off 15 guided KKR to a record-setting total, which the visitors successfully defended.
