That's it from today's coverage of the Ranji Trophy semi-final clash between Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh. It's now down to the final match of the 2024 Ranji Trophy where Vidarbha will face the ever dominant Mumbai. The match will begin on Sunday, March 10, 2024. While Mumbai will remain the favorites in the match, Vidarbha will look to create an upset for the 41 times winner of the prestigious trophy.

For now, this is Gourav Samal, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Asraj Khan. Stay tuned with us for more cricketing actions around the world. Thank you and have a good day.
Deepak: This marks just the second instance in Ranji Trophy history where two teams from the same state have advanced to the grand finale. Interestingly, both occurrences involve teams from Maharashtra! The initial event took place in the 1971 final, with Bombay triumphing over Maharashtra. Now, in 2024, Mumbai and Vidarbha will face off in the summit clash.

10:28 IST and Local Time | Here ends the final day of the Ranji Trophy semi-final match between Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh with Vidarbha winning the clash by 62 runs. They will now face Mumbai in the final of the tournament.

Let's get a recap of what happened in these five days of play. It was Vidarbha who won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. They were bundled up for just 170 in 56.4 overs. Karun Nair was the only batsman who managed to go past fifty runs before getting dismissed for 63. For Madhya Pradesh Avesh Khan led the attack and picked four wickets while Kulwant Khejroliya and Venkatesh Iyer picked two wickets each.

In reply, Madhya Pradesh managed to score 252 in 94.3 over and took a lead of 82 runs at the end of their first innings. Himanshu Mantri top scored with 126 runs. For Vidarbha, senior pro, Umesh Yadav along with Yash Thakur picked three wickets each.

With a deficit of 82 runs on the board, Vidarbha started their second innings by losing two quick wickets before Dhruv Shorey and Aman Mokhade showed some resistance. They were then five down for 161 runs when skipper Akshay Wadkar joined Yash Rathod on the crease. Both put up a partnership of 158 runs before Wadkar getting dismissed for 77. Yash Rathod went on to complete his century and was the last man to get dismissed for 141 runs of 200 balls. Vidarbha ended their innings at 402 in 101.3 overs and gave a target of 321 to the visitors.

In the fourth innings of the match, even after losing the first wicket at the score of 21, Yash Dubey and Harsh Gawli controlled the momentum of the match by adding 106 runs for the second-wicket. After Harsh Gawli getting dismissed for 67, Yash Dubey took the responsibility and controlled the innings from one end, while wickets went on falling in regular intervals. Just before the stumps on day 4, MP faced a huge setback as Yash got dismissed for 94. It was then all down to the lower order to show resistance and take them to victory.

On the fifth and final day of the match, with just four wickets away from the win, Aditya Thakare started the proceedings by picking the first wicket in the morning by dismissing Kumar Kartikeya. The tailenders couldn't stick longer on the pitch and MP lost all their wickets for 258 in 81.3 overs, handing Vidarbha a 62 runs victory in the match. Yash Thakur and Akshay Wakhare picked three wickets each while Aditya Sarwate and Aditya Thakare picked two each for Vidarbha.
