I’m not giving credit to any particular bowler but all the bowlers bowled really well. We had a strong start with the bat, which set us up nicely. As a batter, I aim to score in every match, and I'm pleased with how I'm playing."

Chasing a target of 166, Bangladesh were off to a fiery start as they smashed 63 runs in the PowerPlay. There was a controversy when Soumya Sarkar's caught behind was overturned by the third umpire. It’s pertinent to note that there was a spike on the ultra-edge after the ball had passed the bat, despite a clear noise on the stump mic. Litton and Soumya then fell in quick succession, but they had done their job. Shanto then played a captain's knock and crossed fifty on the winning ball. He was supported by Towhid Hridoy, who hit a useful 32* off just 25 balls. The two batters displayed composure and took their side over the line with 11 balls remaining.
Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Sri Lanka posted 165/5 in their full quota of 20 overs. The visitors lost Avishka Fernando early. However, Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis steadied the ship and stitched a fifty-plus partnership for the second wicket. Both batters failed to convert their starts as Bangladesh bowlers pulled things back.
