Time to conclude our coverage from an absolute gem of a T20 game between Mumbai Indians Women and Gujarat Giants Women. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on the behalf of my co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Good night.
Harmanpreet Kaur (Player of the Match and Mumbai Indians Women Captain)- "It was a very big game for us so that we did not put more pressure on us. We had the belief in ourselves and we knew we had a big batting order, so I took the chances. Yesterday, I had a chat with Himanshu bhaiya and decided to go deep in the chase. The positive thing for us was that we didn't lose a wicket early inside the powerplay. When the sprinklers came out, we thought that we have got a good time to have water and we discussed more on our game plan. I told Kerr to keep our nerves cool and then we did the chase successfully."

Electric Striker of the Match: Harmanpreet Kaur
23:07 IST, Local Time: Time for the post-match presentation ceremony!
Yastika Bhatia (Mumbai Indians Women Captain)- "Definitely the wicket was a tad slower and lower so I tried to play straight to minimize the risk as playing across shots are tough. We discussed that we have built a good start in the first 6 overs and we have to go at 8 or 9 runs per over till 13th over. It was a masterclass from Harry di(Harmanpreet Kaur). She took all the pressures and kept her cool to give us a win. Yes there was some nerves but Harry di was superb today."
Beth Mooney(Gujarat Giants Women Skipper): " Yeah, in T20 cricket you need to bowl well on this type of surfaces, 190 was a good score probably not a good one with the start we got. Credit goes to Mumbai Indians for the way they batted in the end. Yeah, It's really tough. Gardner bowled really well, it's not easy to defend against the smaller boundaries, but Mumbai Indians batted beautifully.

I think still a lot of positives to take from this game. The way Hemalatha batted. Probably we need to bowl a bit good. Hemalatha is a good character, she made my job a bit easier. She said she enjoys batting with me which is always good to hear."
22:54 IST and Local Time | WOW!! Any adjective would fall short to describe the Harmanpreet Kaur's brilliance today. She has been effortlessly elegant today and remained unbeaten to take her team out with flying colours and when this sort of storm hits you, you will always feel helpless and Gujarat Giant Women had nothing to do as usual.

Batting first, the Gujarat Giants Women lost their opener Laura Wolvaardt cheaply for 13. But the other opener Beth Mooney steadied the ship with the number 3 batter Dayalan Hemalatha. The duo added a 121 run partnership between them before Mooney got out for 66. She continued to find boundaries and decorated her innings with 8 fours and 3 maximums. However, Hemalatha carried the innings forward even after losing her partners within a short interval of time. Phoebe Litchfield and Ashleigh Gardner contributed 3 and 1 respectively and just after their dismissal, Hemalatha got out for 74 runs. He played 40 balls and hit 9 fours and a couple of maximums. Debutant Bharti Fulmali added 21 runs from 13 balls hitting a boundary and a maximum. She did the only meaningful contribution in the lower middle order while Kathryn Bryce and Sneh Rana failed to contribute. Gujarat Giants Women mustered to 190 runs losing 7 wickets from 20 overs. They lost 7 wickets in last 7 overs scoring only 51 in that phase and that made them 20-30 runs short.

Saika Ishaque took 2 wickets for 31 runs and she was the highest wicket taker for the Mumbai Indians Women. Hayley Kristen Matthews, Sajeevan Sajana, Shabnim Ismail and Pooja Vastrakar took one wicket each for their team.

Coming to chase the run, the Mumbai Indians Women started the innings slowly. Hayley Kristen Matthews failed to score as per her potential and got out for 18 facing 21 balls. Yastika Bhatia kept the scoreboard going playing lesser number of dot balls. Nat Sciver-Brunt got out cheaply for 2 and then came Harmanpreet Kaur, the skipper. She started her innings very watchfully and meanwhile, she lost her partner Yastika. Yastika scored 49 runs facing 36 balls hitting 8 fours and a maximum.

Harmanpreet was on 20 facing 21 balls and her team needed 91 from the final 6 overs when he decided to switch her batting approach to an aggressive one. She took 19 runs from the 15th over bowled by Meghna Singh and then the 18th over bowled by Sneh Rana was the most expensive one of the innings yielding 24 runs from it. Harmanpreet took on her national team-mate and hit 2 maximums and 3 boundaries in that over. Tanuja Kanwar's penultimate over was off just 10 runs and 13 runs were needed from the final over. Ashleigh Gardner came to bowl the final over and got smoked for a maximum in the first ball and was hit for a boundary in the second ball. In the last three balls, only the strike rotation was enough for the MI Women to win the game.

Tanuja Kanwar was the most economical bowler for the Gujarat Giants picking up a wicket for 21 runs from her 4 overs. Ashleigh Gardner and Shabnam Shakil took a wicket each for the Gujarat side.
VICTORY FOR MI WOMEN!!
19.5 A Gardner to H Kaur
1 That's it!! Harmanpreet Kaur has done it for Mumbai Indians. Defending champions have chased the target of 191 runs and have made their way into the playoffs. They have become the first team to make it into the playoffs this season. Mumbai Indians Women have won this game by 7 wickets.

Fuller length delivery on the leg stump line, Harmanpreet Kaur gets down on one knee and paddles it towards the short fine leg region and takes a quick run. She remains unbeaten on 95* runs and takes her team over the line.
SCORES ARE LEVELLED NOW!!!
19.4 A Gardner to A Kerr
1 Fuller length delivery on the leg stump line, Kerr whips it towards the deep square leg region and collects a run, she brings back Harmanpreet Kaur on the striker. Scores are level now.
19.3 A Gardner to H Kaur
1 Low full toss on the middle stump line, Kaur comes down the track and drills it towards long-on.
WHAT A START TO THE FINAL OVER!!! The first two balls have awarded Harmanpreet and MI Women 10 runs and they need just 3 runs from 4 balls now. It's their game to lose now.
