That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Paras Yadav. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Jemimah Rodrigues (Player of the Match): "I think more than my batting, happy with the win. MI is a really good team, so we had to give our best. We really had to bring our A-game in this match, and I'm proud to say we did just that.

The pitch wasn't the easiest, but it actually suited my style of batting, especially when the ball keeps low. Our team environment is fantastic; I feel free to express myself on the field. After the Test series, I took some time to work on areas I needed to improve for the WPL. It's crucial to keep evolving and stay ahead of the game by learning from past mistakes and constantly challenging yourself to outsmart the bowlers."
Player of the Match: Jemimah Rodrigues
Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals Women Captain): "Yeah, it was a good game for us. We want to keep improving. We have been playing good cricket and certainly feels good to get a win against a quality team.

Having a set batter till the end works very well. We lost a few quick wickets which wasn't ideal but we recovered. But it was nice to get to that total. We felt like we were at par with the score. The ball was staying a bit low. We killed the game early by picking early wickets."
Sixes of the Match: Jemimah Rodrigues (3 sixes)
Electric Striker of the Match: Shafali Verma
Time for the post-match presentation....

Jess Jonassen: ā€œI think, tonight, our batters set up nicely and it made our job easier. Had the cushion of runs at the back end of the innings. Iā€™ll take anything I get. It comes with the experience. Played a lot of games and I love coming and playing in India. Assess the conditions. It has worked in the last three games and nice to contribute to Delhi Capitalsā€™ victories. With five overs to go, a couple of us sitting on the sidelines were looking at 190. We know the Mumbai Indians have a quality batting line-up and we knew we had to get a good total. Jemi played a very good knock and I also played a significant role in giving her the strike (laughs).ā€

Jess Jonassen is now the Purple Cap Holder.
Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians Women Captain): "I think during fielding we gave away too many runs and the fielding was not up to the mark. Our top order didn't score much, but we still managed to put runs on the board. We didn't know much about the pitch, so we decided to chase, expecting dew that never came.

The pitch was tricky, low, and didn't offer much to work with. On grounds with shorter boundaries, bowlers need to stick to their plans. We thought we could capitalize on the shorter side, but it didn't work out.

Change of pace helped the bowlers, but it's a different pitch from what we're used to. She (Amanjot) is someone who is doing really well with the bat. Unfortunately, she didn't get that much batting, but today she contributed really well and I think maybe one or two better also could have contributed. Results might have in our favor."
10:42 PM IST, Local Time: Thatā€™s it. The Delhi Capitals Women beat the Mumbai Indians Women by 29 runs and start the Delhi-leg on a winning note. The stage was set by the Delhiā€™s batters by posting a mammoth total on the board and their bowlers defended it successfully to win their fourth game on a trot. This is the first loss for the defending champions while chasing in the WPLā€™s history.

Chasing a mammoth 193, the Mumbai Indians Women got off to a worst possible start as Yastika Bhatia and Nat Sciver-Brunt got cleaned up on six and five respectively in the first two overs. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur got dismissed on six as the defending champions were reduced to 29/3. Hayley Matthews looked settled and scored 29 before getting dismissed in the last over of the powerplay.

Amelia Kerr really struggled for timing and holed out in the deep after scoring 17 off 20 balls. Amanjot Kaur played a very good knock while batting at seven. She kept the Delhi Capitals Women at bay. She scored a 26-ball 42 before getting cleaned up in the 16th over. The Mumbai Indians Women finished their innings on 163/8 to lose the game by 29 runs. Jess Jonassen registered figures of 3/21 for the Delhi Capitals which helped them win the game convincingly.

Earlier, the Delhi Capitals Women were asked to bat first. Shafali Verma played a quickfire knock of 12-ball 28 at the top of the order and gave her side a solid start. She along with her skipper Meg Lanning put 48 for the first wicket before Verma fell in the fifth over. Alice Capsey fell after a scratchy 20-ball 19. Lanning looked good at the crease and held the innings nicely from one end.

Lanning brought up her fifty and looked good for a big score before miscuing one and holing out in the deep on 53. The foundation was laid for a strong finish and Jemimah Rodrigues played a sensational knock. She hit boundaries for fun and brought up her fifty in no time. She remained unbeaten on 69 off just 33 balls to power her side to 192/4 at the end of their 20 overs. Rodriguesā€™ knock comprised eight boundaries and three maximums. It was too much to do for the Mumbai Indians Women as they fell short by 29 runs.

Stick around for the post-match presentation.
