Well that's it from the first eliminator folks! Join us back tomorrow as Peshawar Zalmi take on Islamabad United to determine the second finalist of this year's PSL!

Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentator Hiren Kumar, and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer! See you on the next one!
Shadab Khan | Islamabad United Captain: "We lost the momentum in the final few overs of our batting. We could have scored more. When we saw the pitch, it looked like it will be on the slower side in the second innings, and that's why we wanted to bat.

It's good to play back-to-back because we have got the winning momentum and we hope it carries us through the last two games. We need improve how we finish in both batting and bowling. After the amazing spell in both powerplays, we did not play so well. We also need to pick up wickets in the middle phase. We still made a few mistakes but it's good because we learn and improve for the next game."
Imad Wasim | Player of the Match: "I think what we saw in the last few games, it was spinning. I bowled really really slow and it helped. If we take early wickets, we will be in the game and that was the plan. Slower one was the weapon of choice for me today and not the arm ball.

I think we did both, we restricted them and took wickets as well. If we do one of these, then they are still in the game."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Imad Wasim
Safe hands of the match award - Faheem Ashraf
Superpower of the day award - Naseem Shah

Welcome to the post match presentation
Naseem Shah (Islamabad United): "A very important game for us. I enjoy leading the bowling attack and there is also some pressure. It was simple. I wanted bowl up and i was thinking that if we get this wicket then we will be on top (on Jason Roy). Shadab has a leader is very calm and that is a very good quality of him. He also tells me to focus ahead and forget the past. Yeah, i can do copy the actions of my brothers (laughs)"
Rilee Rossouw (Quetta Gladiators Captain): "Yeah, we had to score more runs. Not a good season with the bat and hopefully we will come back better next year. It is a great franchise and lot of youngster coming up. It is a step in the right direction for the Quetta family.

The bowling department was brilliant for us. Mohammad Amir was phenomenal for us on these kind of surfaces. A message to fans - a big shout out to all. We did not finish well but this is the first time we have qualified in the last 4 years. So it is a step in the right direction"
12:57 AM IST, 12:27 AM Local Time | And that is it! Islamabad Untied will face off against Peshawar Zalmi in tomorrow evening's Eliminator 2! Quetta Gladiators are eliminated thanks to a 39 runs defeat in the first eliminator tonight!

Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bat first, and that decision did pay off! On the back of Martin Guptill's valiant 56 runs off 47 balls and top order cameos from Alex Hales, Shadab Khan, Agha Salman and Azam Khan, the men in red were able to register 174/9 after the first 20 overs.

Come the chase, Islamabad Untied were in dreamland as Imad Wasim picked up Saud Shakeel in the first over itself! However, they were about to be boosted into the stratosphere as they followed up that with 4 more within the powerplay as Quetta Gladiators were left reeling at 23/5 after the first 6 overs.

Even with Yousuf's fighting 50 runs off 37 balls and Amir and Hosein's valuable cameos, they had lost the game long ago. Quetta never recovered after the powerplay and eventually got bundled out for 135 runs in the 19th over. Imad Wasim was the pick of the bowlers for Islamabad as his 3/12 from 4 overs dismantled the Quetta top order and put the Islamabad in control of the chase!

The fielding and running between wickets proved to be a big difference in today's match. On one hand, Quetta threw away reckless wickets to disastrous run-outs and on the other hand they failed to grab important opportunities in the field.

In the end, it's Islamabad United who march on in their quest to lift the trophy while Quetta Gladiators will become the first team to bow out from the playoffs!
18.4 H Shah to A Ahmed
W WICKET! All over. Bowled'em. A pin point yorker. Yorker into the stumps, Ahmed steps out and looks to hit it straight but misses and the ball goes onto the crash the middle stump. Islamabad United qualify for the Eliminator 2 and will face Peshawar Zalmi in less than 24 hours.
18.3 H Shah to A Ahmed
4 FOUR! Ahmed manages to sneak a boundary. Length ball, outside off, Ahmed stands tall and slaps it over covers for a cracking boundary. That was hit well.
