Milestone
That's all from our live coverage of the 25th game of the PSL 09 between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on the behalf of my co-commentators Ayan Chatterjee and Gourav Samal and our scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe. Good night.
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "I think all credit to boys. At the toss, I said 190 was a good score. We started well in the first 10 overs and then fell away a bit. While I was there I targeted 210, but we lost the way and then Powell got us to 190. The bowlers bowled well with new and old ball. We lacked it in the earlier games. We executed things and got the job done in the end. Fielding was great. Coaching stuff helps us a lot. They give new ideas and give a new perspective all the time. Sammy has great experience and shares with us. I try to do my best for my team. Ramiz Bhai, this is God's blessing that I get support from my team and we get support from the fans. Thankful to them. I think the intention is to win the playoffs and qualify for the finals. That is my aim. Thank You."
Saim Ayub (Player of the Match)- "I practiced bowling since the start of my career but the results are coming now. I am getting good starts but I have to fo long in the innings. I think if I stay till the end, things will be in our favour. T20 is a game of momentum and hence we have to keep on the momentum. I really enjoy batting with Babar Azam. He guides me a lot while we are at the crease."
Player of the Match- Saim Ayub
Superpower of the Match- Mehran Mumtaz
Energetic Batter of the Match- Babar Azam
Moment of the Match- Akeal Hosein
Time for the post match presentations.
Rilee Rossouw (Quetta Gladiators Captain): "Well our batting let us down and it's no rocket science. Need to improve a lot. I think we came back well as they looked like getting 230. 200 was a par score and we did not apply well enough with the bat. Yes, these are the areas we need to work on and hope to improve in the coming games. Happy for Akeal as he is a hard working cricketer for us and wasn't aware of the hat-trick. Yes, we have lots of positives to take from here and the spinners are doing well. Let's see how things go from here and we have to bounce back soon."
Mehran Mumtaz: "Thanks to Allah. It was my second game. The people who see me wants me to perform well. Glad I did well for them. I wanted to vary my pace and trajectory to Saud and did well. The 6-8m lengths and mixing this one helps us. Everyone supports me well. Babar Azam bhai supports me well. My brothers, coaches everyone supports me well. Yes, happy to be in playoffs. Focusing on the coming games and take it game by game."
23:07 IST and 22:37 Local Time | Absolute domination from the Peshawar Zalmi has comprehensively outplayed the Quetta Gladiators as they have got the victory by 76 runs and as a result, their net run rate gets boosted hugely. They are off to the play-off stage now.

Saim Ayub and Babar Azam started the chase hitting a few boundaries at the start and the score flew to 46 inside 3.3 overs. But in the fourth ball of the 3rd over, Saim Ayub got out for 30 runs off 12 balls hitting 1 boundary and 3 maximums. But Babar Azam held the innings together with the help of his top order batters. Mohammad Haris added 20 runs from 13 deliveries and stitched a 47 run partnership with his captain. After that Haseebullah got out for a cheap score but Tom Kohler-Cadmore kept the scoreboard going. Babar meanwhile got to his fifty and he was removed from the crease by Akeal Hosein when he was on 53 off 30 balls. He decorated his innings with 9 boundaries and a maximum. TKC mustered 33 runs from 19 balls with 4 boundaries and a maximum but just after that, Akeal Hosein shattered the scoring rate picking up a hat-trick, removing Aamir Jamal, Mehran Mumtaz and Luke Wood. Peshawar Zalmi got reduced to 157 for 8 and then Rovman Powell gave some fightback scoring 28 runs off 25 balls with 4 boundaries to help his team post 196 runs after the end of 20th over.

Akeal Hosein was the bowler of the first innings. He took 4 wickets for 23 runs from his 4 overs. Sohail Khan, Mohammad Hasnain and Abrar Ahmed took a wicket each for the Quetta Gladiators.

Coming to chase the run, the powerplay had gone well for the Quetta Gladiators. Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel maintained the run rate well for his side and the opening partnership of 46 runs in just 4.3 overs. But once they lost Shakeel for a well made 24, the wickets began to tumble for them. They lost Rilee Rossouw(8), Jason Roy(16) and Khawaja Nafay(5) quickly. Omair Yousuf(10) and Laurie Evans(14) stayed at the crease for a bit and they perished as the run rate pressure was elevating. Akeal Hosein added 14 runs beside his name and Mohammad Amir also added a few runs. The Quetta Gladiators lost their last 6 wickets for a paltry 44 runs and got all out for 120 runs.

Khurram Shahzad was the most economical bowler as he picked up 2 wickets bowling 2.5 overs and giving away 15 runs. Mehran Mumtaz took 2 wickets for 22 runs. Saim Ayub and Luke Wood also took a couple of wickets. Naveen-ul-Haq and Aamir Jamal took one wicket each.
THAT'S THE GAME!!!! Quetta Gladiators are bundled out for 120 runs and lost the game by 76 runs.
17.5 K Shahzad to A Ahmed
W WICKET! Fuller length outside off, Abrar looks to swing it away and gets it up in the air. The ball gets no height and no distance either as Babar takes the catch inside the circle at mid-off, Abrar is the last man out as Gladiators have been bowled out for 120 in 17.5 overs. Peshawar Zalmi wins the game by 76 runs and qualify for the playoffs.
