Milestone
That's it from the coverage of our game. We will be back tomorrow with more cricketing actions from across the globe and across formats. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Saptak Sanyal alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans Captain)- "Venue was tough because we thought it would be a batting wicket. But our coach suggested that there will be spin in the later of the half of the game and our spinners bowled well. We always talk in the dressing room to have a champion mindset. It is a good thing for any team to have a formidable bench and luckily our players are doing well. See, every team has some limitations and we also have that but we learn from every game and that's important."
Usman Khan: "Thanks to Allah. My mind was simple. Coach and Wasim Bhai said to bat at 3. Had to go deep and play a long innings and glad I did it. Rizwan Bhai said to bat at 3. Play attacking shots and play according to the situation and go big in the end. Iftikhar is our greatest finisher and my aim was to give him more of the strike so that he can finish the job. I think I am not focussed on individual records and always focusses on the team. Thank You."
Player of the Match: Usman Khan.
Super Power of the Day: Usama Mir.
Energetic Batter of the Match: Iftikhar Ahmed.
Moment of the Match: Usama Mir.
Time for the presentations.
Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lahore Qalandars Captain)- "I want to thank the crowd for the support. When things don't click, you can see a lot of loopholes. But the thing is that we have played 5 games well but was unfortunate to lose a few matches by close margins. We have four cricketers and we are having some instability in our playing xi. No the boundary was not that big but the Multan batters batted so well. We have a few matches left. We will fight hard till the end."
Usama Mir- "Thanks to the almighty that we have won the game. The batters played a very good cricket to help us get in a better position. Now with a high score on the board, it becomes easy for the bowlers. Our bowling coach is doing a very good job. He analyses our videos, stats and gives us the plans and we execute. Every wicket was special for e today as my mother has come to the ground to watch me play for the first time. I got hit for a couple of maximums at the start but came back stronger as my captain gave me a lot of confidence."
10:56 PM IST, 10:26 PM Local Time: What we have witnessed today is a clinical display from Multan Sultans as they have outclassed the struggling defending champions Lahore Qalandars by 60 runs. They have outplayed the Qalandars in all facets of the game and consolidate their position at the top of the points table. Lahore have now lost their first 6 games and are all but out of reckoning for the playoffs.

Chasing a mammoth 215 for the win, Lahore Qalandars showed promise in patches but fell away towards the end to suffer a crushing defeat. The openers got off to a decent start. Sahibzada Farhan scored 31, Fakhar Zaman struggled for his 23. Rassie van der Dussen scored 30 and looked good. Kamran Ghulam scored 12. Sikandar Raza scored 17 off 7 balls. Carlos Brathwaite scored and remained unbeaten on 14* off 7 balls. But the innings fell away as Qalandars were eventually bowled out for 154 in 17 overs.

The spinners of Multan Sultans did the job for them. Usama Mir came back well and picked up his last 5 wickets in 11 balls. He picked up 6 wickets for 40 runs in 4 overs. Faisal Akram on debut picked up a couple of wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. Aftab Ibrahim picked up a wicket in his only over. A wicket for Khushdil Shah as well as he bowled his quota of 4 overs.

Earlier in the game, Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and decided to bat first. The Sultans lost Rizwan early for a duck. Reeza Hendricks played well for his 40 off 27 balls. Usman Khan was the star of the show for Multan Sultans with his 96 off 55 balls. Tayyab Tahir scored 21 off 14 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed was brilliant as well as he finished things off in style with his unbeaten 40* off 18 balls. 14 extras given by the Lahore Qalandars fielders as Multan Sultans notched up 214/4 in 20 overs which is the highest score in PSL this season.

Shaheen Shah Afridi picked up a couple of wickets for 39 runs in 4 overs. A wicket apiece for Carlos Brathwaite, and Sikandar Raza but they all went for runs.

So, Multan Sultans win by 60 runs and notch up their 5th win in 6 games. They are almost through to the playoffs. Stay tuned for the presentations.

W That's all over for Lahore Qalandars!!! Usama Mir becomes the first ever spinner to take a 6-fer in the PSL history! Lahore Qalandars have suffered a mammoth defeat by 60 runs to lose 6 matches in a row! Mir tosses it up around the off stump line. Zaman swings his bat and the ball goes straight to Tayyab Tahir at long on, who takes an easy catch.
