Iftikhar told us that if we don't gift the wickets in the powerplay, this game might go in our way. My plan was to take the game deep because we knew that we have good finishers and we can pull out the chase. We have two great finishers in the world. See, catch dropping is a big issue and if you look closely, we have started to improve. Yes, a lot of catches are getting dropped and everyone is doing it. I am not much worried about that."

Rassie van der Dussen also batted well and the duo had put up a 94 run partnership between them. Rassie got out for 54 runs off 37 balls with 4 boundaries and 2 maximums. Fakhar struggled in the middle overs and scored 41 runs off 36 balls with 2 boundaries and an equal number of maximums. Coming to chase the target, the Multan Sultans got off to a shaky start as Shaheen Shah Afridi and Zaman Khan bowled tight lines with the new ball. Dawid Malan(0) and Reeza Hendricks(9) got out cheaply but Mohammad Rizwan kept one end steady with a few boundaries at some intervals. David Willey joined him and gave a good company. The duo had a partnership of 75 runs and that kept the Sultans in the chase. Rizwan decorated his 82 run innings with 9 boundaries and 3 maximums before getting out. Willey(25) soon got out missing a terrific yorker from Shaheen Shah Afridi. Iftikhar Ahmed came in the middle and he took the game on when 21 runs was required from the final couple of overs.
