Milestone
So, this win strengthens the chance for the Strikers to make the cut for the playoffs. Fourth successive win for the Kieron Pollard-captained side and they look unstoppable at the moment. They retain their spot in the top two, just behind the Deccan Gladiators due to NRR difference.

This is Arijit Kundu, signing off alongside good pal, Deepak Prakash and scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Stick around this network for more cricketing extravaganza.
Kieron Pollard (New York Strikers Captain): "Try to keep the momentum. Obviously, T10 cricket or even T20 cricket is about momentum. Yes it is the back end of the tournament. Obviously, we're going to play four games in four days and then obviously qualify for the playoffs. You know, we have another two days. So for us just continue to do the same things over and over. Obviously, different teams, different opposition, different plans, and just try to execute.

They have been fantastic. For us Waseem over the last couple of years in cricket around the world. He has been fantastic. Jawadullah gets an opportunity here more consistently. Bowling difficult overs, bowling in the powerplay. bowling in the end, and he continued to tune out the performances. But credit must go to the entire team, coaching staff, players, everybody. The way we come day in, and day out and just try to execute our skills and see what happens in the end.

Again, the way we fought, we put it under some pressure in middle overs when Asif Khan I thought came out and smoked over 32 off seven balls. The way that the guys held their nerve and just executed what we wanted to execute was pleasing to see."

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Player of the Match): "The wicket was not easy and yeah, I was happy for my batting. The Strikers family is lovely. I have played for various franchise but I feel so happy playing here. I hope that we keep doing good and the boys back one another. The special thing for the management or backroom staff is that we have backup even if we have a bad day."

Time for the presentations...
11:51 PM IST and 10:21 PM Local Time: The drought continues for Team Abu Dhabi. Despite some fightback spirit from Asif Khan, the team failed to steer past the finishing line.

In pursuit of the chase, Team Abu Dhabi started off slow. Kyle Mayers was kept quiet for the first four deliveries from Akeal Hosein in the first over but the southpaw managed to eke six runs off the final two balls. After a brilliant follow-up over from Mohammed Amir, Sunil Narine reaped rewards with a double maiden wicket. He removed Tom Banton and Leus du Plooy in the same over and pushed Team Abu Dhabi on the back foot. Hosein struck from the other end as well and removed Colin Ingram.

Asif Khan was the one who counter-attacked the bowling unit. He teed off the bowlers that included 23 runs off Chamika Karunaratne's initial over. Mayers' struggling knock did come to an end in the fork of a run out in the 7th over but Asif tried to take on the Strikers. However, some disciplined bowling reduced them 24 runs short of the target as the Kieron Pollard-led unit forced six back-to-back defeats for Team Abu Dhabi.

Earlier, Rahmanullah Gurbaz's rapid 41 runs off 26 ball with cameos from Kieron Pollard and Odean Smith helped the New York Strikers register 110 runs on the board.

Gurbaz and Muhammad Waseem provided a great start for the New York Strikers after the Strikers were forced to bat first. The duo structured 62 runs for the first wicket, the highest of the edition for them. However, Noor caught Waseem for 23 runs off 14 balls, thereby ending the opening partnership. He was quickly followed by Kusal Perera, who left for only one run before succumbing to Pretorius.

Gurbaz ended up nine runs shy of a half-century after falling short by one run in his last game. Despite the midway stutters cameos from Kieron Pollard and Odean Smith helped the Strikers reach 110 runs.

Stick around for the post-match presentations...
