After being put into bat, the Gladiators were taken off to a flier by their skipper Pooran who bashed the ball around from the start. After Pooran's dismissal, it was Fletcher (41 off 12) who played a cameo and kept the score moving for the Gladiators. Kohler-Cadmore joined in as well with a quickfire 35 off 17. It looked like the Gladiators would post something over 150 runs, but wickets fell in clusters at the backend and the Gladiators ended up posting 141 runs on the board.
Team Abu Dhabi did not have a great outing with the ball after electing to field first. Their bowlers were bashed around and they ended up leaking more than 140 runs in their 10 overs. There were some positives as they got wickets at the backend but it was another poor outing for them with the ball. Mills and Raees got a couple of wickets each, while van der Merwe and Noor got a wicket each for Team Abu Dhabi today.
Coming in to chase a stiff target of 142 runs. Team Abu Dhabi did not have an explosive start which they needed. Their top order struggled and was dismissed cheaply. du Plooy and Ingram (19) batting in the middle-order came together and stitched a decent 41-run partnership for the fourth wicket. However, it was nowhere near enough to chase down such a huge total. In the end, Team Abu Dhabi went on to lose this game by a massive margin of 63 runs.
