11:57 PM IST, 10:27 PM Local Time | Well that's all she wrote for today folks! New York Strikers with a comprehensive win tonight! Come back tomorrow to join our coverage in this journey of cricket's shortest format!

Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee, and our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma! See you on the next one!
Kieron Pollard (New York Strikers Captain): "Just conversations. Difficult to start when people come from different countries. It was a good hit out there and then we did the job done.

This is cricket and we started badly, but that over from Chamika turned the game on its head. it's all about conversations and how to go about it. We need to keep it simple as possible. The guys are up for it and we are looking forward to winning games.

I think it's a good start by us. Won one and lost one. It's early stages, but the tournament is quick and fast and so if you blink, you may miss out.

Our main aim is to qualify for the playoffs. We will try our best. If we do it, it's well and good and if we don't then we can come back and give an honest reflection of ourselves."
Chamika Karunaratne | Player of the Match: "The second wicket was special, I was practicing a lot for the last 7-8 months with the national team, and it's paying off. The catch was crucial of Carlos and really happy to take that, I always look out for catches like that and give my best in the field.

We did well to execute our plans, and to come back and fight back after the start they had. They were trying to attack us and we kept setting fields to take their wickets."
Player of the Match: Chamika Karunaratne.
Power Hitter of the Match: Kusal Perera.
Magic Moment of the Match: Chamika Karunaratne.
11:50 PM IST, 10:20 PM Local Time: Time for the presentation ceremony.
11:39 PM IST, 10:09 PM Local Time | New York Strikers make short work of that chase to seal victory in the 8th over! They defeat a deflated Tigers side by 8 wickets to bounce back from the defeat in their season opener!

New York Strikers won the toss and elected to bowl first,
and the decision had almost back-fired! After dismissing Lynn early, Jordan Cox and Kusal Mendis blazed away the Strikers' bowlers in a partnership that lasted for 59 quick-fire runs.

However, once Jordan Cox fell when the Tigers were at 61/1 after 4.2 overs, the rest of the batting lineup collapsed. Kusal Mendis followed him in the next over and the Tigers lost the next 4 wickets for just 24 runs. A last ball maximum from Drakes saw the Tigers reach a total of 101/7 from 20 overs.

Chamika Karunaratne was the pick of the bowlers for his figures of 3/22 from 2 overs.

Come the chase, Muhammad Waseem gave the Strikers a flying start in the early exchanges and they did not look back after that. After the loss of Gurbaz, Perea and Waseem go to work.

Their destructive partnership saw 68 runs being scored in double quick time to put the Strikers in cruise control of the chase. Waseem fell for 41 runs off 22 balls, while Kusal Perera's unbeaten 50 runs off 20 balls saw the Strikers take their first win of the season with 8 wickets in hand!

A deserved victory for the Strikers and they will look to build upon this in the coming games while Bangla Tigers will hope to take a page out of the Strikers' book and bounce back from this loss with a win in their next game!

A winning shot to bring up the half-century! What a destructive innings it has been!
7.4 J Little to K Perera
6 SIX! That's it. What a way to finish the game as Kusal Perera finishes things off in style. Short of a length that sits up for the batter. Perera picks it up and pulls it away by swivelling across to get it over deep square leg flat and hard for the maximum to finish the game in style. He gets to his 50 as well in 20 balls as the Strikers win this easily by 8 wickets with 2.2 overs to spare.
7.3 J Little to K Pollard
1 Back of a length around off, Pollard thumps it down to the cover region for a single.
7.2 J Little to K Perera
1 Short ball with pace off the ball, Perera pulls it away to deep square leg for a single.
7.1 J Little to K Perera
4 FOUR! Short ball banged in, Perera pulls it away behind square into the gap as he swivels across. The ball goes away to beat the diving fielder in the deep and gets a boundary.

That should have been taken by Drakes. 11 runs needed from 18 balls to seal victory here.
6.6 B Howell to K Perera
1 DROPPED! Fuller and wide outside off, Perera looks to drive and gets the edge to Drakes at short third man who puts down a dolly and they get through for a single to end the over.
6.5 B Howell to K Perera
4 FOUR MORE! Fuller length angling in, Perera reverse sweeps it away over the slip cordon and short third man. The ball gets the gap and runs away to the third man fence for a boundary.
