Milestone
That marks the end of our coverage from the 24th match of the ongoing ILT20 between Dubai Capitals and Gulf Giants. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal, signing off on behalf of our scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. Good Night.
James Vince (Player of the Match and Gulf Giants Captain)- "I did mind losing the toss and we didn't get the most ideal start in the powerplay but we came back well as the wicket got easier for the playing. Our bowlers did well, our fielders took catches and affected run outs. Look, some balls were coming nicely to the bat and some were not and I tried to take the advantages. We knew we need to take the early wickets and we took those in the powerplay. We got three in the powerplay and took couple of more later on. Our job is only half done and we are looking forward from here."
David Warner (Dubai Capitals Captain)- "Look I think, we had to do well in the powerplays and we did. But they bowled exceptionally well. 127 was very much gettable in this wicket but credit goes to their bowlers. If you bowl a team out at 126, you can always be happy. Now we have to win the remaining games and also we have to improve our net run rate"
Biggest Six of the Match- Dominic Drakes (98 meter six)
23:35 IST and 22:05 Local Time | The Gulf Giants have defended the paltry 126 run target and gets a memoriable victory by 19 runs here. It has been a topsy-turvy contest between the teams and the Dubai Capitals fell flat.

Coming to bat, Jamie Smith got out quickly scoring just 9. Chris Lynn(1), Jordan Cox(0) and Gerhard Erasmus(2) got out quickly and the Gulf side got reduced to 17 for 4. Then, skipper James Vince and Shimron Hetmyer took the charge and batted sensibly to register a 51 run partnership between them. Vince contributed 32 runs off 28 balls hitting 4 boundaries. Hetmyer batted well for his 34 run knock of 28 balls. Aayan Afzal Khan struggled in the middle and scored 10 runs facing 17 balls. That forced the team management to withdraw him as retired out and send Jamie Overton in. Although Overton didn't contribute much, Dominic Drakes stepped up for his team. The birthday boy added 24 runs facing 12 balls hitting 3 maximums and a solitary boundary to help his team reach 126 run mark.

Olly Stone on his ILT20 debut took 4 wickets for just 14 runs. Scott Kuggeleijn bowled well and took 3 wickets for 29 runs, his last over was an expensive one.

Coming to chase the run, Dubai Capitals lost David Warner for 11. Rahmanullah Gurbaz had hit a couple of maximums but perished very next ball scoring 15. They lost another useful T20 batter Sam Billings for 12 and that's where their downfall started. Max Holden departed cheaply but right after that, the duo of Ben Dunk-Sikandar Raza added a few singles between them but Dunk fell unexpectedly for 13. Soon after, Sikandar Raza got out for 10. Then, the onus went down to Dasun Shanaka, who was rapidly running out of his partners. For the final wicket, he added 17 runs with Haider Ali. But when he was looking good, a blunder from Haider Ali costed his team brutally and they went down by 19 runs. Shanaka remained unbeaten on 24.
18.3 J Overton to D Shanaka
W What have you done Haider Ali??????? That's a complete blunder from him and he has destroyed the winning opportunity for his team. Shorter delivery angling at the body, taking the pace off. Shanaka tucks it to short fine leg. Surprisingly, Haider Ali strides out for the run and crosses the half-crease. Shanaka sends him back but the fielder throws it at the bowlers end. Overton dives to reach near the stumps and accepts the ball and hits the stumps there. Haider was short of his crease and Dasun Shanaka is in agony!
18.2 J Overton to D Shanaka
4 FOUR!!! Priceless boundary for the Capitals!! Low full toss outside off missing the yorker. Shanaka uses the width and hits it over extra cover and as there was no protection out in the deep, the ball goes to the fence.
Physio comes out as Shanaka has suffered a blow on his helmet. He is treating him now. And then, Shanaka is fine to continue.
18.1 J Overton to D Shanaka
0 Overton bowls a back of length delivery angling at the hemlet and Shanaka goes for the pull but gets hit on his helmet's grill. Mandatory concussion check is going on here.

17.6 C Jordan to H Ali
0 Back of length delivery at the leg and middle. Ali goes for a defensive shot but wears it on his pads. Gulf goes for the review. The ball pitched outside leg and hence it's a not out. Giants loses a review here.
17.5 C Jordan to D Shanaka
1 Full delivery angling at the fourth stump. Shanaka drives it to deep cover for a single.
17.4 C Jordan to D Shanaka
0 Full delivery angling at the fourth stump. Shanaka hits it to the non-striker at the other end.
17.3 C Jordan to D Shanaka
4 100 up for Capitals and Shanaka does it with a boundary!! Jordan errs in length and drops a full delivery outside off. Shanaka drives it through the vacant deep cover for a welcome boundary.
