That brings to a close our coverage of this ILT20 encounter between Desert Vipers and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. This is Soumarya Dutta, signing off on behalf of our Scorer/ Analyst Chandan Singh. See you soon!
Alishan Sharafu, Player of the Match- Obviously it feels good and glad that we got the win tonight. I'm grateful to the management for having the trust in me since I didn't get runs in the last three games. It's a lot easier once you're set to go after the bowling. It's a great environment to have the likes of Russell and Narine in the change room. I try to pick up small things from them and incorporate them in my game.
Sunil Narine, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders Captain- Always a great feeling when the plans pay off. Picking up early wickets is key in this format. Fielding was great and the guys showed a lot of energy. I'm enjoying the bowling and the knuckle balls are coming off well. We had a good support today and we've played good cricket. It's about backing it up in the next game. Sharafu is a quality player and he has been in good headspace. Hopefully he continues this.
Colin Munro, Desert Vipers Captain - I thought we were 10 or 15 runs short. We didn't adapt enough and that cost us in the end. We lacked a bit in intent and even I didn't show much of it. It was one of those wickets which was tough to start on. They did bowl very well and came out and batted really well. We have got to train hard and prepare ourselves mentally and assess our strengths and weaknesses accordingly.
19:23 IST, 17:53 Local time-  Dre Russ, wound back the clock and produced some magic at the back end to finish the game off in style. The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have made 160/4 in 17.2 overs and they've won the game by 6 wickets with 16 balls to spare. This has been an emphatic performance from them, especially after they were bowled out for less than 100 in their previous encounter.

They started off on a poor note having lost three early wickets in the powerplay. Joe Clarke was run out in a freakish way at the non strikers end while Gous and Sam Hain fell cheaply and couldn't bother the scorers much. Alishan Sharafu , the local lad, took matters into his own hands and started to score the boundaries at regular intervals. He stitched together a 79 run stand with Imad Wasim to bring the Knights back into the game.

The veteran Wasim and the youngster, Sharafu were superb in the middle overs as they rotated the strike and picked up the bowlers they wanted to attack. The 21 year old Alishan got to his 50 in quick time and he went berserk post that. Imad Wasim threw it away though and was dismissed for 25 runs. Russell came in at that stage and he completed the formalities for the game as he smashed three huge sixes.

The Desert Vipers bowlers did well in patches but they took some real pounding at the death. Shadab Khan and Tymal Mills were really expensive and their overs swung the momentum on the other side. Hasaranga was outstanding as usual and he picked up two wickets. Shaheen and Amir were good early on but the Pakistani duo leaked runs at the death in front of an onslaught from Russell and Sharafu.
17.2 A Lakra to A Russell
6 SIX! And with that the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders finish things off in style! It was in the slot and Russell was deep in the crease. He cleared that front leg of his and heaved it over deep mid wicket for a MAXIMUM.
17.1 A Lakra to A Russell
2 This one has been bowled into the pads and it has been hit away through deep mid wicket for a couple of runs.

4 FOUR! Gorgeous from Sharafu! It was full and wide outside the off stump and he just sliced it past backward point for a boundary to close out the over. Just three more runs needed now.

1 Short and around middle and leg stump. Russell is deep in the crease and he pulls it away through deep mid wicket for a single.
16.4 S Afridi to A Russell
0 Angled away wide outside the off stump. Massive heave from Russell but he doesn't get bat on ball. Dot ball.
16.3 S Afridi to A Russell
0 Slower one and into the surface. Russell goes for the slog sweep but is beaten due to the lack of pace. Dot ball.
16.2 S Afridi to A Russell
6 SIX! Russell is in a hurry! It was short and sat up nicely to be hit. Russell rocked back and pulled it over deep square leg for a huge one.

1wd Slower ball and strays on the pads. It will be a wide and the fumble from Azam Khan allows the extra.
