Well that's all from this game folks! A brilliant victory for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders! Switch tabs to join our LIVE coverage from the second game of the double header in ILT20 today!

This is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer! See you on the next one!
Andries Gous (Player of the Match): "It was pretty much right up there with my top knocks, really special tonight. Grew up in Fontaine and moves to the States a few years ago. I'm living in Dallas right now.

Playing under the flag of United States and hopefully everything goes well then I can play for them in the World Cup. This is a world class franchise, it's unbelievable playing from them. Haha, I've given up trying to explain [my name's pronunciation] to people, so they can call me what they feel like."
Andries Gous is the player of the match!
Sunil Narine (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders Captain): "It's good to start with a win and see how the games play out. The way the bowlers came back and especially Ali Khan. Batting was fantastic as well. He just went onto play his natural game and if the others do this then there will be no beating us.

I think we can build on this momentum and the way the guys are playing it gives you the encouragement. If you bowl first it does not matter what target they set, we can always chase it down."
Colin Munro (Desert Vipers Captain): "I think we were 15-20 runs short, they bowled really well 14th over onwards. I think if we got 180+ it might have been a different story. Hose played really well and he tried to be proactive against Ali Khan who was bowling well and that's okay.

New strip, little bit two paced but the credit goes to the Knight Riders, they were the far better team today. Credit to Gous, he played really well, he hit too many sixes over the short boundary but he played really well."
Biggest hit of the match: Andries Gous (97 M)
Time for the post match presentation ceremony..
7:15 PM IST, 5:45 PM Local Time | Abu Dhabi Knight Riders blow away Desert Vipers to kick off their season with a dominant victory! They defeat the opposition by 6 wickets to make a positive start in this tournament and will be heading home high on confidence!

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bowl first,
and after some initial flurry from Munro and later Adam Hose, the Knight Riders bowling unit led by Ali Khan pulled things back to restrict Vipers to 164/8 from their 20 overs.

Khan came into the match in the second half of the innings and picked up 3/29 to restrict the Vipers to a par score.

Come the chase, the Vipers made a perfect start by dismissing Sharafu early for a single run. However, Gous and Pepper had other ideas as the duo established a blistering 85 run-stand to put their team in cruise control of the chase.

The Knight Riders never looked back after that and even two quick dismissals of Pepper and Hain left them unfazed as Gous carried on his excellent knock to eventually register 95 runs off 50 balls! His knock ensured they chased down the target within 17.4 overs!

Except Lawrence, Mills and Amir no other bowler was spared by Gous and the Knight Riders as all of them registered an economy in the double figures.

In the end, it was a morale boosting performance from Abu Dhabi Knight Riders after the debacle they experienced last season. They will hope to carry this momentum through out this tournament and hopefully go all the way!

Desert Vipers meanwhile will be hurting after this loss and will look to iron out all the flaws before their next game!
A boundary check ensues, and it is given a boundary! The Knight Riders win!
17.4 T Mills to I Wasim
4 A slower delivery around off, Wasim makes room and swings hard at it. He gets a leading edge that flies over the backward point region. Amir from third man runs to his left and stops it with a slide. He was very close to the boundary ropes and just manages to stop it. The batters complete only a single. The third umpire is checking for a clean stop. Amir touched the ropes with his left leg while he was in contact with the ball. The umpire signals it as four and that's the end of this fixture. The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders beat the Desert Vipers by six wickets.
17.3 T Mills to I Wasim
0 Over the wicket, short delivery on the stumps, Wasim backs away and looks to cut it over point but misses.
Imad Wasim walks out to bat next!
17.2 T Mills to L Evans
W The change of pace does the trick for Mills. Bowls a back of the hand slower delivery outside off, Evans stays deep in his crease and looks to pull it over mid wicket but doesn't get it off the middle of the bat. He hits it straight and Hose stationed at long on takes a good catch by moving a couple of steps to his right.
17.1 T Mills to A Gous
1 Back of a length delivery around off, Gous pulls it towards long on for a single.
