The Champions Trophy 🏆 is being presented to Harbhajan Singh, skipper of Manipal Tigers. The fireworks start bursting here at Surat and the Manipal Tigers camp leaps up in the air and pose for a picture with the trophy.
Harbhajan Singh(Manipal Tigers Skipper): " Winning is a habit, I had that habit for a long period of time, I won trophies in the past and now I am back here, it's really an amazing feeling. Well we bowled pretty alright, in the first six overs, then they had one partnership and in the last 2 overs, we were on target. While batting we were spot on and wanted to take the game till the end.

Thisara has been a great player for Sri Lanka, he was playing everywhere, and when we were picking up the team he was the top player in my list. All the players played really well, and a lot of people asked me why I didn't ball, I think my team didn't need me there, for me the team comes first. Thank you Surat crowd for supporting us, we would love to come back here next year as well."
Winners 🥇 Medals are been presented to the Manipal Tigers team members!
Suresh Raina(Urbanrisers Hyderabad Skipper): " I think we were 20-30 runs short, the credit goes to the Manipal Tigers batters they stiched partnerships in the middle overs, and I think the pitch played really well in the second innings. Stuart Binny bowled really well. I think Rikki batted really well along with Trego and even Mann played really well. The crowd has been really good, Harbhajan led the team and won the trophy for his team. Yeah, Surat has been amazing, I was the captain of Gujarat when IPL happened here, they have always supported me."
Runner-up 🥈 medals are presented to the Urbanrisers Hyderabad team members.
Thisara Perera(Legend of the League):  Actually  I am really honored to represent Manipal Tigers, it's a team game so we did well as a team, it's part of the game, if we do well then we can get over the line. I want to thank our team management and team coach. As a team, we did really well.
Legend of the League: Thisara Perera
Asela Gunaratne(Legend of the Game): "I am really happy as we are champions of this tournament, it was not easy to win, and it was very hard to play against them. It was really good to play with legends, and I would love to play next year too."

22:19 IST| Time for the post-tournament presentation ceremony!
Angelo Perera(Manipal Tigers): "It's been a great tournament for us. There was always a different plan for us when we lost against Urbanrisers earlier, Robin Singh and Harbhajan Singh both are very experienced. I think a 15-minute meeting between the innings worked out for runs."
21:54 IST| Colin de Grandhomme finishes off the things in style and party begins in the Manipal Tigers camp. Harbhajan comes running in from the dressing room with joy and celebrates the victory! Manipal Tigers are the champions of the Legends League Cricket 2023!

Let's have a quick recap of the game.

Earlier in the game, the Manipal Tigers won the toss and invited Urbanrisers Hyderabad to bat first. Urbanrisers posted a formidable total of 187 runs, thanks to a game-changing partnership between
Rikki Clarke (80*) and Gurkeerat Singh Mann (64). The duo came together when Urbanrisers were struggling, having lost both openers within the powerplay.

Despite a slow start by Martin Guptill and Dwayne Smith, the Tigers' bowlers, led by Pankaj Singh and Praveen Gupta, maintained the pressure, restricting Urbanrisers to their
lowest powerplay score of 36 runs this season.

Clarke and Singh's resilient partnership blossomed after the first strategic timeout, frustrating the Tigers' bowling attack. The breakthrough came in the 18th over with Singh's dismissal, leading to a late collapse. Urbanrisers concluded at 187 runs, and Pankaj Singh emerged as the standout bowler for Manipal Tigers with two crucial wickets.

In their chase of 188 runs, the Manipal Tigers got off to a flying start with
Robin Uthappa and Chadwick Walton's explosive partnership of 71 runs. Stuart Binny turned the game in the 8th over, dismissing both openers and  Shadab Jakati dismissed Amit Verma in quick succession. Angelo Perera and Asela Gunaratne steadied the innings with a 56-run partnership.

Stuart Binny's return in the 16th over broke the partnership, sending
Angelo Perera back after a quick 30. Thisara Perera joined Gunaratne, and their dynamic duo added 51 runs, with Gunaratne playing a splendid unbeaten innings of 51 runs off 29 balls. Colin de Grandhomme sealed the deal with a six, taking the Manipal Tigers to victory in the 19th over.

Stuart Binny
stood out in the bowling department, taking 3 wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs for Urbanrisers Hyderabad.

Stay tuned with us for the post-tournament presentation ceremony!

6 In the air and goes over the ropes for six runs! The party begins in the Manipal Tigers camp. Impact Player Colin de Grandhomme smacks the first ball that he faces out of the park and takes his team over the line.

Good length delivery angling into the middle and leg stump line, Colin shuffles across covers his sticks, and uses his wrists to its best. He whips it over the cow corner region, he times it beautifully as the ball goes flat and straight over the ropes for six runs.
