That's it from our coverage of the 7th fixture in the Legends League Cricket season 2. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more cricket action from around the world.
Gautam Gambhir (India Capitals Captain): "Good win. They kept the pressure and Ricardo was great and took the game away from the opposition. Chuffed about his performance.

The plan was to attack and that's why we promoted Ricardo at the top. I think the bowlers did well. Everyone chipped in and we did well.

The bowlers set up the game for us. If anyone told me that we would be chasing 160 we would have taken it.

I mean if we were chasing 200+ it would have been really tough. Biggest positive is the bowling apart from Ricardo's innings. Thank you so much."
Ross Taylor (Southern Super Stars Captain): "Credit to Ricardo, he batted fantastically. It was a tough wicket out there but the way he got himself in, felt like he scored a bit quicker. He was 29 in 28 and then once the drinks break happened, he took the game away from us and won it convincingly in the end.

I think we were happy. It was a difficult wicket to bat and I don't think it got any better. We had enough runs but when someone hits a hundred and you have 160 on the board, it's going to be difficult.

I think the ball at 10 overs, the ball before it was swinging and the new ball stopped. You gotta give credit to Ricardo, he batted fantastically well. We were bit off. Started out well but when someone's batting like that it becomes difficult. Hopefully we change our fortune in Jammu."
Ricardo Powell (Legend of the Match): "I think I felt good going out there. I love opening. Got a good start and went on with it. I think for me to bat naturally, and backed my instincts. Yes, I knew I would open the innings. I would have opened the innings even if we are batting first. Felt good and tried a few things and happy that it worked out well. I hope this continues for us."
Legend of the Match: Ricardo Powell.

10:07 PM IST and Local Time: The Gautam Gambhir led India Capitals get their first win of Legends League Cricket season 2 as they thrash the Southern Super Stars by 7 wickets and 20 deliveries left in match number 7 played in Dehradun.

Chasing a par score of 164, the Capitals lost two early wickets in form of skipper Gambhir (3 off 6) and Gnaneswara Rao (0 off 1) registering the worst powerplay of the tournament with 33 runs and 2 wickets on the board.

Ricardo Powell, promoted to open the innings tonight started off cautiously but unleashed his wrath after getting set. At one stage he had scored only 31 in 30 balls but he finished his evening with 100 in 57 balls smashing 10 sixes and 6 fours, a LLC record for most sixes in an individual innings.

Powell was well supported by Kirk Edwards who scored an unbeaten 45 in 35 deliveries and finished the game with a boundary in the 17th over. Impact player Kevin Pietersen faced a solitary delivery and hit a four.

Suranga Lakmal (1/23) and Pawan Negi (1/15) were the two wicket takers with Hamid Hassan (0/20 in 3) and impact player Abdur Razzak (0/30, 1 maiden) putting some rest on the runs. But Powell was unstoppable and was only dismissed with 15 needed off 25 deliveries.

Stay tuned as we return with the post match presentation.
