That’s all from this contest. Northern Brave thumped Wellington Firebirds by 7 wickets with 27 balls to spare. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of co-commentator Saipavan Janaki and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
Jeet Raval (Northern Brave Captain): "Yeah, extremely happy, and more importantly we did it today with all-round performance with bat and ball. Yeah, we had the extra bowling attack as Zak came and we kept the simple as we could and were able to pick early wickets and restrict them well. We chased well in the end. But for us enjoy the every game and hopefully, we go better for the next one."
Nick Kelly (Wellington Firebirds Captain): "Well, obviously we played on the same wicket the other day against CD and we knew it was going to be slightly challenging. But when we got off to that tough start, I guess the learning for us will just be whether we can lower our estimations and maybe if we get to 130-140, our class bowling attack will be able to possibly defend that. So moving forward, we've got a game on the same wicket on the 22nd. That'll be the learning."
Scott Kuggeleijn (Player of the Match): " Yeah, was after sort of a city and good wicket and not sure the conditions. Yeah, definitely as much we can, and nice to put up today. Surely thinking of early wickets, we got off. Yeah, was great to see from the other end and that’s great. Thank you and was sweating in the fielding too."
Time for the post match presentation...
11:24 AM IST, 18:54 Local Time: Brett Hampton finishes off the game in style. A comprehensive victory for Northern Brave as they win by 7 wickets with 27 balls to spare.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Wellington Firebirds got off to a horrendous start as they lost a flurry of wickets in the powerplay and were reeling at 27/6 in the last over of the powerplay. Jesse Tashkoff and Nathan Smith started the rescue mission, and the duo managed to hold their wickets for a while, but Zak Gibson trapped Smith for 26 runs off 21 balls and ceased the budding partnership. On the other hand, Pringle clean-bowled Tashkoff for 17 runs off 13 balls to put the Firebirds in deep waters. Logan van Beek (12*) and Peter Younghusband (13) added crucial runs at the cue end of the innings to help their side cross the 100-run mark, but they failed to bat till the end and eventually were bundled out for a mere 102 runs in 18.3 overs.

Scott Kuggeleijn, Zak Gibson, and Matthew Fisher shared a couple of wickets each for the Brave, while Kristian Clarke, Tim Pringle, and Frederick Walker contributed one wicket to the Firebirds' downfall.

In pursuit of a paltry 102 runs, Northern Brave started their innings carefully and added 20 runs for the first wicket, with Katene Clarke departing for 13 runs off 12 balls. Henry Cooper took his time to settle on the crease but failed to bat till the end, departing for 25 runs off 26 balls.

Jeet Raval and Peter Bocock paired up in the middle and started to score at a decent pace to keep the scoreboard ticking. Raval looked in sublime touch but failed to bat till the end, departing for 32 runs off 28 balls. Peter Bocock remained unbeaten on run-a-ball 16 runs, while Brett Hampton finished off the game with a biggie. Northern Brave chased down 102 runs with 7 wickets and 27 balls to spare.

Nathan Smith, Logan van Beek, and Michael Bracewell celebrated a solitary wicket for the Firebirds.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation...
