So that marks the end of our coverage of the Super Smash game between Wellington Firebirds and Otago Volts where the Firebirds won comfortably by 74 runs. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off alongside my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Switch the tabs to follow our coverage of the ongoing women's test match between India and Australia.
Nick Kelly(Wellington Firebirds skipper)- "We saw some pretty special todsay from Tim today and I am proud of my bowlers too. They bowled really well.

We played earlier here and we got the same wicket today for this game. After watching the pitch, we became confident a bit and executed our plans to get the victory."
Dean Foxcroft (Otago Volts Captain): "It was a tough chat. Was about going for it. Robinson played well and we lost wickets in the middle. We tried hard, but it was too much to do. We were neck and neck but lost wickets at well. We had positives but were poor in the field and had to do well. We have to improve in all facets of the game. I think we have positives but we deserved to lose. Robinson was special today."
Tim Robinson (Gamechanger of the Match): "I have got a little bit of a physical problem. It hasn't sunk in yet. I did a lot of training and cricket training and just stuck to basics. Yes, I think so. Tough to best him and happy to be alongside him. Bracewell is great and great to be associated with him."
Gamechanger of the Match: Tim Robinson.
11:42 IST and 19:12 Local Time | The Wellington Firebirds have secured a comfortable victory of 75 runs to kickstart their journey in this edition of Super Smash T20.

Earlier coming to bat, a fiery 139 run knock from Tim Robinson had helped them to get into a comfortable position. Robinson was well accompanied by Nick Kelly, the skipper, who scored 48 runs before his departure. Later Nathan Smith played a quick cameo of 19 runs to help his team reach the 235 run mark. Robinson hit 10 fours and 10 maximums in his mammoth innings. For the Otago side, Travis Muller, Dean Foxcroft and Matthew Bacon took a wicket each.

Coming to chase the run, Jake Gibson gave Otago a fiery start in the powerplay but they started losing wickets at regular intervals. Hamish Rutherford, Dale Phillips got out for 6 and 2 respectively. Dean Foxcroft scored 29 to help his team recover but he got out and just after that Max Chu got out playing a cameo of 17 runs of 6 balls. Gibson got out scoring 55 runs and when he departed, the chase was all over for the Otago side. They lost the lower middle order cheaply and they got out for 160.

Peter Younghusband and Ian McPeake took three wickets each. Nathan Smith and Michael Snedden took a couple of wickets each for Wellington.
