That's all from this 3rd One Day International Match between South Africa Women and Sri Lanka Women. Both the captains were at their best with the bat and the series ending in 1-1.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of co-commentators Saptak Sanyal, Ayan Chatterjee and Soumarya Dutta who, along with scorer/analysts Yogesh Kumar and Ghanendra Singh Thakur brought all the actions of this clash.
The two captains Laura Wolvaardt and Chamari Athapaththu now collect the trophy as the series has been shared 1-1. They pose for the cameras before taking it to their teammates. Both teams will have a lot to celebrate tonight.
Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Women's Captain and Player of the Match)- "I will have to play under pressure because I just enjoy that. Laura played very well and then I had one motto. To see the ball and hit the ball. My partnership with Nilakshi was crucial for the chase.

We are now focusing on world cup qualifiers. Every team is ready to give tough competition in that tournament and we will have to do better to secure a spot in the world cup. We are very keen to play the world cup.

As a captain, I always give one message to the girls. Just enjoy your time in the middle."
Player of the Match- Chamari Athapaththu.
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain and Player of the Series): "Yes, a tough second half to the game. We thought we were in the game always but credit to Sri Lanka and Chamari for that innings. There were moments in the game we lost out. Could have got more and missed the big moments. There were plans out there and we missed execution a lot. Great day for Ayabonga Khaka and she did well in the 100th ODI for her. Would have loved to win the series, but 1-1 is a fair result I would say. It has been a hard fought series and Sri Lanka have really challenged us throughout."
Player of the Series: Laura Wolvaardt.
Time for the presentations.
Highest run chase in Women's ODI-

1) 305/4- Sri Lanka Women vs South Africa Women(2024)
2) 289/6- Australia Women vs New Zealand Women(2012)
3) 285/4- Australia Women vs India Women(2023)
00:17 IST and 20:47 Local Time | Sri Lanka Women have got a tremendous victory and they are elated with this victory. They have been clinical with their approach and outplayed the Protea bowling. All the appreciation goes to Chamari Athapaththu for her epic innings.

Sri Lanka Women had won the toss and they opted to bowl first. The in-form player of the home side, Laura Wolvaardt started to take on the bowlers right from the start. She had registered a good opening partnership with Lara Goodall that lasted for 116 runs in 21.2 overs. Lara added just 31 runs off it from 55 balls. Just after the opening stand got broken, Proteas had lost two more wickets as Delmi Tucker(1) and Sune Luus(0). Wolvaardt then carried the innings forward with Marizanne Kapp. Kapp didn't let her team feel the pressure in the middle overs and scored 36 runs from 34 balls. She had hit 5 boundaries and a maximum on her way.

Meanwhile, Wolvaardt had completed her century in 100 balls. She went berserk on the Sri Lanka bowlers after that. She added 84 runs from 47 balls after completing her hundred. Nadine de Klerk added 35 runs facing 48 balls to give her a company in the slog overs. Laura decorated her innings with 23 boundaries and 4 maximums and stayed unbeaten on 184 facing 147 balls, the fourth highest individual score in an innings in WODI!

For Sri Lanka, Kavisha Dilhari took a couple of wickets and skipper Chamari Athapaththu took a wicket and the other two wickets came by run out.

Sri Lanka Women started the chase in a bit sloppy manner but they recovered well and the courtesy goes to Chamari Athapaththu. Chamari hit the bowlers here and there in the powerplay when her opening partner Vishmi Gunaratne was struggling vigorously. Later Vishmi got settled in the crease and she added 26 runs from 47 balls. The number 3 batter Prasadani Weerakkody got out cheaply for 4 and Sri Lanka lost Hansima Karunaratne(3) and Kavisha Dilhari(0) in a quick succession after that.

But Chamari Athapaththu and Nilakshi de Silva kept the chase alive for their side. They rotated the strike at ease and hit boundaries at loose deliveries. Nilakshi played an anchor's role in this run chase and Athapaththu smashed the looseners out of the park. She completed her 9th hundred in women's ODI and continued the run chase. She looked absolutely comprehensive. Chamari played one of the finest knocks in the history of women's ODI. She played 195 runs in 139 balls in her unbeaten knock. Her world class knock included 26 fours and 5 maximums. For the fifth wicket partnership, Chamari and Nilakshi added 179 runs in just 146 balls and that was instrumental for the run chase.

For the Proteas, Ayabonga Khaka, who was playing her 100th ODI, took a couple of wickets. Nadine de Klerk and Delmi Tucker took a wicket each.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations.
Athapaththu finishes things off in style!!! The Sri Lankan captain has been excellent throughout the run chase. That is a historic victory for Sri Lanka. For the first time in the history of Women's ODI, more than 300 runs got chased. Take a bow- Chamari Athapaththu!
44.3 Klerk to C Athapaththu
6 SIX! Chamari finishes things off in style! Fuller length delivery and in the slot, Chamari takes it on and lofts it away midwicket as the ball sails into the banks for the maximum to end the match in style. What an innings from the legend as Sri Lanka completes the chase in 44.3 overs to achieve a record chase and level the series 1-1 with one match washed out.
Half-century for Nilakshi de Silva!! She brings up her fifty in 71 balls.
44.2 Klerk to Silva
1 Fuller length around off, de Silva steers it away for a single to the point region for a single and gets to her fifty. This has been a good supportive innings from her.
44.1 Klerk to C Athapaththu
1 Good length on the stumps, Chamari tucks it away to the midwicket region for a single.
5 needed from 6 more overs now.
