That's an end to the third day of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 season two. Both high-scoring fixtures have been entertaining and we will sign off now. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya saying goodbye from our live coverage alongside our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. We will meet again with another blockbuster. Until then, it's cheers!
Shreyas Gopal (Shivamogga Lions Captain): "Yeah, it has been great. Two wins in two games is something you always dream of at the start of the season. There are a couple of areas where we need to improve a bit. But it was a great team game for us and happy with the win.

It's not about individual performances. I held myself back because the situation didn't need me. Sometimes you need to be selfless and see the situation. I knew Kranthi and Shivaraj are better finishers than me. Hence they went ahead of me. And sending Pranav Bhatia in for the last ball ahead of me was because of the shorter leg-side boundary. Even for the last ball, we thought of this tactic because Bhatia was a left-hander. Everything went in sync for us.

Even though I didn't get any success in the first over, a tight over got us the first wicket. Bhuvan didn't face me before and hence I operated with the first over. Bowling a maiden was very satisfying. I thought 170-180 is par and I back my bowlers to defend that and we got plenty in the end."
Rohan Kadam: "Yeah actually the pitch was a bit sticky upfront. Nihal batted pretty well. So my plan was to bat with him. No, no, I think it was a great start. I knew my batting, I could cover it up and play according to my strength. Thank you."

9:02 PM IST and Local Time: A complete performance from Shivamogga Lions hand the last year's runners-up Bengaluru Blasters their second successive defeat in the season! Shivamogga now join Hubli Tigers in the top half of the table with two wins from two games.

Losing the toss and put into bat first, the Lions posted a mammoth total on the board getting past 200. Openers Rohan Kadam and Nihal Ullal provided an excellent start with the comeback bowler Vidyadhar Patil bowling a horrible spell, giving the momentum in the hands of the opposition. Nihal and Kadam added a quick-fire 65 runs for the first wicket before Pradeep T had the last laugh on the former.

Rohit Kumar couldn't quite get going in the middle overs with the Bengaluru spinners trying to get their side back in the game. Since the dismissal of Rohit in the 11th over, Shivamogga got back the momentum again and shifted the gears very well. Kadam continued his good run of form, smashing boundaries at regular intervals and completing a superb fifty. Abhinav Manohar got set and struck a couple of lusty blows. Both these set batters got out in a span of an over but Kranthi Kumar's final surge in the fag end propelled the Lions to 201/5 in 20 overs.

Captain Shreyas Gopal bowled a terrific first over, bowling a maiden to kickstart the defense. Though he personally didn't get any wicket in the opening over, a harakiri moment on the field between the Blasters' openers cost them the wicket of their skipper Mayank Agarwal, who was run out without facing a ball. Soon in the next over, ever-consistent Vasuki Koushik dismissed the other opener for a duck as well.

Bengaluru never recovered from these initial setbacks and ended up scoring 165/8 in 20 overs, losing the game by 36 runs. A couple of cameos helped the Blasters to reduce the losing margin but they were never really in the game. Jeshwanth Acharya, Pavan Deshpande, Shubhang Hegde and Aashish Mahesh got into starts but couldn't quite get on with it. The tailenders hit a few lusty blows at the end only to get them past 150.

For the Lions, skipper Gopal was excellent with the figures of 4-1-11-1. A few bowlers got into the wickets column but it was the fielding that proved too hot to handle for the chasing side. Four run-outs saw Blasters sink heavily in the big chase and now they have lost back-to-back games.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations...

19.6 K Kumar to K LR
6 SIXXX!!!! Kumar LR finishes the match with a six but can only reduce the losing margin. Fuller-length delivery wide outside off. Kumar gets low and swings with a full flow. Gets it off the outside half of the bat and carves it just over the deep cover fence for the final hit of the match.
19.5 K Kumar to A Mahesh
1 Full-length ball outside off. Mahesh sits down on one knee and mistimes the heave towards long-on for a single.
19.5 K Kumar to A Mahesh
WD WIDE! Length ball outside the tramline. Left alone by Mahesh and gets a wide call in his favour.
19.4 K Kumar to A Mahesh
0 Yorker outside off. Mahesh looks to smash it over extra cover but fails to get underneath it. Plays it straight to extra cover.
19.3 K Kumar to K LR
1 Slower length ball wide outside off. Kumar moves outside the off-stump and heaves off the toe end towards long-on for a single.
19.2 K Kumar to K LR
0 An appeal for caught behind by the bowler and the keeper. But the umpires want to check the fairness of the catch. Full and wide outside off. Kumar shuffles across and loses his shape as he swings hard at it. Gets an inside edge which has been taken by the keeper with his left glove after a big dive to his left. Fair delivery. Hang on! Was that a bump ball? Replays come in. Yes, it hit the ground before travelling to the keeper. NOT OUT.
19.1 K Kumar to A Mahesh
1 47 runs are needed off the final over. Kranthi Kumar to bowl the last over. Full and outside off from over the wicket. Mahesh sits down on one and smacks this one towards long-off for a single.
