Glenn Maxwell (Player of the Match): "It all went pretty quickly, actually. I think once the dew obviously affects the ball and makes it difficult to hold onto. We knew that it was going to be hard work to bowl Yorkers, and there probably wasn't a number, I think, at the back end that we sort of set ourselves to.
But we just thought if we could sort of stay in the hunt for at least until the last over and give ourselves a chance, you never know. If we get a couple out of the middle, we might stay in the game. And we did really well just to keep ourselves in the game until the final over.
I think knowing that Axar had one over left was I think it obviously meant that Wadey had to be out there to make sure that to cash in on the left-arm spinner and he played that role really well.
I was trying to take on the pace bowlers and try and I suppose get the run rate under a little bit more control. Struggled a little bit for a couple of overs there, but the way that Wadey controlled the other end sort of got me through the back end of my, and yeah, he was brilliant out there."

It was always going to take our best and one of the best players to have played T20 for Australia played his 100th game and scored 100 in it so pretty special for him.
I was grumpy to have Maxi bowl the last over. That one went for 30, I thought we were right in the game throughout with 190 going to that over and unfortunately that one goes for a big one so I was bit more grumpy than confident. We know that we can back your chases here and we went quite hard on the ball and won today.

Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): "Just to get Maxi out quickly. I think that was the plan, but yeah, I mean, when you're defending 200-210 with so much dew I think you got to give something to the bowlers.
They lost wickets early on, so they couldn't reach the end, but with the wickets in hand for them and then for 220, I think they were always in the game. (What he said during the drinks break) Let's try and get him out quickly.

I think I wanted to keep him (Axar) and let him bowl in the end because he's already bowled a few overs in the 19th and 20th over, so he's experienced as well. And I've always thought an experienced bowler bowling in the end, even though it's a spinner with a heavy dew, there's always a chance.
Fantastic. I mean, the way he (Ruturaj) batted after I got out, he took the inning deep. I've always said during franchise cricket as well, that he is a special player. And the way he batted, he showed it, but yeah, at the end. Very proud of my boys."

It's a happy hunting ground. I have played here twice and fortunate to take a few wickets and not go for too many runs here. So if I could bottle this ground up and take it with me, that will be excellent. Its a lovely place to play, bit of swing around so take advantage of those conditions.
Ideally we would want to take the series victory so just one step closer to that now. Every time you play cricket for Australia you wanna go there and do your best and that's what we can ask and to put on a performance like that tonight was special. It's a pretty exciting group and best of times. So take the momentum ahead and put on a good show in a couple of days time.

10:44 PM IST and Local Time: Utter poor death bowling from India, especially from Prasidh Krishna. Zero yorker and the slot balls have been taken care of by the Aussies. Don't take anything away from Glenn James Maxwell, who has been brilliant and stunning yet again for Australia. We have seen two hundreds tonight, and it's Maxi's ton that finishes on the winner's corner. Australia beat India by 5 wickets and get one back at the hosts in this 5-match series!
Matthew Wade won the toss and put India into bat. India lost a couple of wickets well inside the Powerplay, but a rebuilding partnership of 57 runs between Suryakumar Yadav and Ruturaj Gaikwad helped the hosts to get the much-needed foundation. SKY (39 off 29) threw away his start, with Aaron Hardie getting his maiden T20I wicket.
Gaikwad continued and continued playing an array of glorious strokes and completed his first T20I hundred. He scored 123 off 57 balls, hitting 13 fours and 7 sixes and also added an unbeaten 141-run partnership for the 4th wicket along with Tilak Varma, whose contribution was just 31* off 24 balls to shift the momentum in India's favour going to the innings break.
Jason Behrendorff bowled an excellent spell of 4-1-12-1 amidst the carnage. Hardie was taken to the cleaners and finished with expensive numbers of 4-0-64-1. Glenn Maxwell was called into bowl the final over and gave away 30 runs to see India's total climb towards 222/3 in 20 overs.
Travis Head (35 off 18) and Aaron Hardie (16 off 12) gave Australia a flying start, adding 47 runs in the blink of an eye. Head started from where he left off in the World Cup Final against India. Arshdeep Singh broke the opening partnership with the wicket of Hardie in the 5th over. Head and Josh Inglis were taken care of by the bowling side in quick succession, and Australia were in some sort of trouble at 68/3.
Glenn Maxwell teed off from the get-go and never stopped in any over. Maxi and Marcus Stoinis added 60 runs for the 5th wicket, with the latter struggling for proper timing before getting out to Axar Patel in the 13th over.
