That's it from a high octane series that helped both the sides tick some boxes right before the all-important World cup. Good night from our team that brought you the coverage of the 3rd ODI: Arijit Kundu, Akshay Bhide, Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more cricketing action around the world on our network.
Rohit Sharma asks KL Rahul to come up and receive the trophy. All smiles in the Indian camp as the players pose behind the 'CHAMPIONS' board. The local players of Saurashtra- Prerak Mankad, Harvik Desai, etc. were a part of the group that was posing behind the banner. They acted as a cover to the Indian squad for the final ODI.
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "I am pretty happy. Of course would have liked to go all the way along but as long as I'm batting like that I am happy. The last 7-8 ODIs that we played, we did really well in different conditions. We were challenged at different times of the game and we took it well. Under pressure, different conditions and teams as well so I though we responded to it very well. Unfortunately not the result we wanted today but I am not gonna look into this game. We've been playing really well.

Body wise I don't see any issues [with Bumrah]. He has got skills. 1 or 2 bad games here and there can happen to anyone. How he feels mentally and body wise, that is the key for us.

When we talk about the 15, we are very clear what we want and who are the guys who are gonna do the job for us. Pretty clear in our mind, not confused. We know where we are headed as a team. Its a team sport at the end of the day and you need everyone to come and play their part. That's how you win championships. Focus on the next 1 and a half month will be on that. How we are going to manage ourselves on the field, looking after our body and making sure that we stay fresh for each game that is in front of us."
Player of the Series: Shubman Gill
Glenn Maxwell (Player of the Match): "Got two haha [award cheques]. Yeah, it's been a lot of hard work. I think the SA tour was a kind of of setback. I went back, got an injection. I feel a lot fresh now. I don't have any travel issues like the other guys. Had gone home, been fresh. Its nice to chip in.

I think Mitch Marsh wasn't there, and hence we didn't chop and change with our bowling. If it's our day we will contribute in any ways.

We will try to be flexible as much as we can. Everyone is ready to bat anywhere. We will try to play with our individual styles of strengths."
Player of the Match: Glenn Maxwell
Game-changer of the Match: Mitchell Marsh
Pat Cummins (Australia Captain): "Yes. I must say I was happy to bowl under lights than the heat today.

Great first hit today. Maxi, four-fer was brilliant and Starcy was in a great rhythm. Travis Head won't be available for the start of the tournament. So it will be Marsh opening alongside Davey and they look like a dangerous opening pair.

Ashton Agar is back home with a calf. Head won't be available for the next few days. So we will have a breather and work on those.

It's good that we have plenty of cricket and everyone has stepped up and put their hands up."
9:48 PM IST: Time for the post-match presentation.
Marnus Labuschagne: "Yeah, it's nice to contribute obviously. I came in obviously in a different time than I used to come in. It was nice to come back and navigate there. Yeah, it certainly felt like that the game at the front end was the nicest time to bat. At the backend, the ball was skidding a bit or spinning it.

Yes, spot on. India played very well on their first two games. It was nice to see all the big guns come and nice to see everyone gel. To get the win it was nice to get everything going.

Ah, I cannot hear anything... [unable to hear Murali Kartik's question which was translated below by co-commentator]

I would love to answer that question but I can’t here [on not being a part of the World Cup squad and the feeling despite the performance]."

9:35 PM: Team India take their last series before the World cup 2-1 but lose the dead rubber by 66 runs after a brilliant show from both the departments of the visiting Australian side. Both the teams made handy changes as Pat Cummins called it right at the toss electing to bat first.

Recapping the first innings, the Australian top 4 all hit half centuries with Mitchell Marsh top scoring with 96, Smith scored 74, Labuschagne 72 and David Warner 56 in 34 balls. The batters helped the team to deposit 352/7 in 50 overs with Jasprit Bumrah taking 3/81.

In response, the Indian line-up had a new opening pair with Washington Sundar (18) opening with Rohit Sharma (81 off 57). Sharma started as the aggressor and then added 70 runs for the second wicket with Virat Kohli (56 off 61).

Glenn Maxwell was lucky to catch Rohit off his own bowling against the run of play and then opened the flood gates. After adding 27 runs with Shreyas Iyer, Kohli fell in the trap set by Maxi, getting a top edge in the hands of Smith at midwicket.

Iyer added 52 runs with Rahul (26 off 30) for the 4th wicket. Suryakumar Yadav entering this game after consecutive half centuries failed to go big tonight. Iyer struggled with his footwork and scored 48 in 43 before getting out to Maxwell who got the Mumbai batter out bowled.

Ravindra Jadeja hung around with the bottom order and scored 35 off 36 before getting out to leg spinner Tanveer Sangha in the 49th over. With the required rate already out of reach, the lower order crumbled with 2 balls still remaining in the game.

Every Aussie bowler got at least a wicket each with Maxwell finishing as the pick of bowlers (4/40). Josh Hazlewood finished with 2/42 with Starc, Cummins, Green and Sangha taking a wicket each. Owing to this 66-run loss, India win the three-game ODI series 2-1. This was also the last one-day international between any nations before the ICC Cricket World cup kicks off in a week's time.
