That is it from our end as well. For now, it is me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Akshay Bhide, who, alongside our scorers/analysts Paras Yadav and Raju Khariya brought you all the live-action of this contest. We will meet again. Until then, it's cheers!
9:50 PM IST and Local Time: MATCH ABANDONED! Match Referee Javagal Srinath calls in the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam and they shake hands. Now, Rohit Sharma also shakes hands with Srinath followed by shaking hands with Babar Azam. The players from both sides shake hands and with some friendly words as well.

As expected, the consistent rainfall has the final say on the Asian Derby. The mother of all battles has been called off after one full innings. The crowd didn't leave the ground and were expecting at least a shortened game but now, both sides share a point each.

Rohit Sharma had no hesitation in deciding to bat first under the overcast conditions with the weather around. Rohit and Shubman Gill watchfully negotiated the couple of overs each of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah before the drizzle halted the match for a few minutes.

Shaheen hit the right areas after the resumption and cleaned-up both veterans of Indian cricket, Rohit and Virat Kohli in his consecutive overs and put India under pressure. Shreyas Iyer was looking good with hitting a few glorious shots before the Haris Rauf bouncer had his name on it. Iyer's wicket was followed with the dismissal of scratchy-looking Gill with Rauf showing there is no substitution for raw pace.

Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya batted brilliantly, first milking the spinners before getting themselves set for the pacers. Both hit respective fifties and were involved in a 138-run partnership for the 5th wicket, taking the score from 66/4 to 204 before India got into tangles getting collapsed.

Kishan was brilliant for his 82 runs off 81 balls, while Pandya hit 87 runs in 90 balls. Rauf (3/58) and Shaheen (4/35) were at their absolute best, followed by Naseem Shah (3/36) cleaning up the tail with a three-wicket haul. Jasprit Bumrah showed some of his batting skills in the last few overs and was the last man to get out with India getting bundled out for 266 inside the 49th over.

The rain that started pouring down during the innings break never allowed the game to continue. But there was a couple of instances where the rain eased out, raising the hopes of the cricket enthusiasts. Finally, the consistent downpour made the match-officials to call off what would have been a nail-biter.

Pakistan stay at the pole position of Group A with 3 points from two matches and they become the first team to qualify for the Super Fours. On the other hand, India have one point from one match and are in second place with a game in hand against Nepal on 4th September.
9:49 PM IST and Local Time: The match-officials are with the ground staff and all are with umbrellas. Hang on! As I write, a couple of umbrellas have been folded out. The whole ground is still under covers.
9:44 PM IST and Local Time: The groundsmen are hovering around the field but not sure what they are upto.
9:26 PM IST and Local Time: The cut-off time for the resumption of the match is 10:27 PM IST.
Trivia: First time in the history of the Asia Cup, all 10 wickets were taken by the pacers in an innings.
9:08 PM IST and Local Time: So we have the revised target. The match is revised down to 36 overs and Pakistan need 226 runs to win on DLS. But hang on! The drizzle is back right when everything was going well for a restart. The covers are back on!

Virat Kohli is having an animated chat with Rahul Dravid. The players who were warming-up have climbed up the stairs again. That means only one thing, the rain has just gotten heavier. Pandya is climbing the stairs with a towel on his head.
9:06 PM IST and Local Time: Babar Azam is having a friendly chat with Suryakumar Yadav in the dressing room.
9:00 PM IST and Local Time: The roller is moving on the pitch. The umpires are out in the middle and are on the inspection. The two on-field umpires Richard Illingworth and Ruchira Palliyaguruge are having a word with the fourth umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal.

Meanwhile, the Indian players in the dressing room are getting ready with their gears. Hardik Pandya in the first one to walk down the stairs and get to the ground. He is followed by the rest of the Indian bowling department. Hardik has already started his warm-up. Ishan Kishan with his wicket-keeping gears sprints down the stairs. However, the two seniors Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are still standing in the corner of the dressing room. Jasprit Bumrah is moving along nicely out in the ground.

The two umpires have called the two captains for a chat on the side of the dressing rooms. Babar Azam and Rohit Sharma have been told exactly what's the numbers are going to be.
8:50 PM IST and Local Time: The covers have been almost removed and the stumps are being placed at the moment.
8:41 PM IST and Local Time: Next inspection is at 9:00 PM IST and Local Time.
Estimated DLS Adjusted Targets:

-45 Overs: 254
-40 Overs- 239
-30 Overs- 203
-20 Overs- 155
8:35 PM IST and Local Time: Looks like the rain has stopped now. The match-officials are having a word with the head groundsman. They are looking at the watch and might have questioned the groundsman about how long it would take for them to get the ground ready for the run chase. Okay, the covers are slowly coming off.

The two on-field umpires climb up the stairs and one of them, Ruchira Palliyaguruge, has a few words with the Pakistani camp followed by both the on-field umpires having a brief chat in the Indian camp with Rohit Sharma.
8:15 PM IST and Local Time: Umpires Richard Illingworth and Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Match Referee Javagal Srinath are having a conversation with India's Head Coach Rahul Dravid. We will be starting to lose overs from 8:21 PM IST and Local Time.
7:48 PM IST and Local Time: The ground staff have covered the pitch and the squares. A hint of drizzle on the air. May be more of a precaution. It's interesting to see how we move ahead. Umbrellas are open for now. As I type, the rain slowly picks up.
Shaheen Shah Afridi: "Yeah, that was our plan. The new ball was important to get breakthroughs for us. Thanks to almighty as well. Both (Rohit and Kohli) wickets were same for me but I still feel that the Rohit's one was a good one. I enjoyed that wicket. The plans worked well for us. Naseem Shah is bowling at a good speed, 150 kmph. I am really happy with that and he does bowl really fast. There is a bit of swing and seam on offer with the rain around and the weather. New ball does swing and seam but once it stops doing it's bit, it becomes easier for batting."
