The match was hanging in the balance when the day started and the senior paceman showed his class by taking wickets at regular intervals and won the game for his side. He adjusted his length and made sure that he got his rewards and India were chasing a low total due to this spell. His spell neutralised the innings from Aiden Markram who threatened to take the game away from India.

Rohit Sharma (India Skipper): "Obviously, a great feat. We learnt from the mistakes made in the first Test. We had some plans ready. We executed and got the desired results. The lead was crucial, but it wasn't pleasing to see how the last six wickets fell. Siraj was very, very special. We spoke about keeping things simple and let the pitch to do the rest, and that's exactly what happened. It's always challenging to tour South Africa. In the last 4-5 years, we have become a good travelling team. A series win would have been great, but we can take a lot of pride after our performance in the second Test. A great player (on Dean Elgar). I would like to wish him the best for his future."

Jasprit Bumrah (Joint Player of the Series): "Happy and a special venue to play here and do well. I kept it simple and got my rewards in the end. Our journey started from 2018. We wanted to build and take wickets. We have to be at it. The transition has been great. We are happy that we could sustain it in this series and got the win in the end. Yes, this was the shortest test that I have ever played in my life. This was rapid and was too quick to my liking as well. Even we would have batted first had we won the toss and in the end, we got the result we wanted."

Dean Elgar (Joint Player of the Series): "Yes, would have liked to do more in this game. Proud of my performance at Centurion and nice to contribute to the team. Doesn't seem to get better for us as batters. Yes, would have been great. Bumrah was great and they have challenged us a lot. Glad I have played against them and now don't have to play against them. Baggy green is special for us. I missed the Test match in West Indies but hardly missed any matches. Always proud to represent my nation. Happy to play the series."
