That's it from all of us for this clash. Do switch tabs as the clash between the Adelaide Strikers Women and the Perth Scorchers Women will kick off shortly. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Tata. Bye bye.
Jess Jonassen (Player of the Match & Brisbane Heat Women Captain): " Yeah, a bit of relief, to be fair. The carrot's been dangled for the last few games, so, yeah, I felt like we put a pretty complete performance out there. Something special sparked us with the field, obviously, Kerr and Sippy combining out there and, yeah, we just sort of took that momentum along with us through the fielding innings, so, yeah, really pleased that we got the job done.

Yeah, to be fair, we knew that there were things in our control that we could tidy up and fix up, and fielding was one of them. It was sort of that bit of an elephant in the room that the more you spoke about it, the more tense people got. So today it was just a matter of backing ourselves, Laura Harris was included in our team finally for this season, and she had some words of wisdom at the start and just told us to do our hardest to get the job done. Take that step forward, take the brave option."

Brisbane Heat Women qualify for the finals and this means Ellyse Perry-led Sydney Sixers have been eliminated from the tournament.
1:18 PM IST and 6:18 PM Local Time: That’s it. The Brisbane Heat Women seal a spot in the finals on the back of a solid performance today at the Adelaide Oval. They beat the Sydney Thunder Women convincingly by 22 runs to qualify for the knockout stages of the Women’s Big Bash League 2023. A win in the last league game against the Sydney Sixers Women will see the Sydney Thunder Women qualify for the finals if the Hobart Hurricanes Women win on Sunday. For now, the Heat Women get back to winning ways and end the league stages on a high.

Chasing 161, Chamari Athapaththu and Phoebe Litchfield got the Sydney Thunder Women off to a very good start. Both put away the loose balls after getting their eye in. They brought up a fifty-run stand between them in the seventh over as the Heat Women looked clueless in the initial phase of the innings. It took a brilliant fielding effort from Amelia Kerr and Courtney Sippel to break the stand as Litchfield fell on 23. It was a short stay for skipper Heather Knight as departed on two.

Chamari Athapaththu looked solid at the crease and scored 34 off 28 balls but felt the pressure and holed out in the deep in the 10th over. Marizanne Kapp tried to fight back but was dismissed on 13. None of the lower-order batters contributed as the Heat Women bowled beautifully and restricted the Thunder Women to 138/9 to win the game by 22 runs. Jess Jonassen bowled brilliantly for the Heat Women and registered figures of 4/26 in her four overs. Nicola Hancock also chipped in with a couple of scalps as they defended the total successfully.

Earlier, Brisbane Heat Women won the toss and opted to bat first. Grace Harris, opening the batting, scored 16 off 13 balls before falling in the fourth over. Bess Heath joined Georgia Redmayne who scored a run-a-ball 21 before departing while trying to up the ante. Heath along with Amelia Kerr stitched a 41-run stand for the third wicket. Both rotated the strike regularly and found odd-boundaries in the middle overs. Kerr and Heath fell on 20 and 29 respectively in quick succession.

Laura Harris who was playing her first match in WBBL 2023 played a cameo of 19 off nine balls before holing out in the deep. The Heat Women lost their way a bit as the Thunder Women bowled beautifully in the back end of the innings. Georgia Voll played a handy cameo and remained unbeaten on 18 off eight balls to take the Heat Women to a competitive total of 160. The Thunder Women picked up eight wickets in total. Sammy-Jo Johnson grabbed three but was on the expensive side. Marizanne Kapp registered figures of 2/26 in her four overs.

Ebony Hoskin walks out to bat.
19.4 J Jonassen to T Wilson
W WICKET! CAUGHT! JJ gets her 4th wicket! Flighted delivery angling in with the arm. Wilson makes room and looks to cut it over the backward point but fails to get enough elevation on it. The ball flies straight on the throat of du Preez at backward point, who makes no mistake and takes it safely.
19.3 J Jonassen to S Bates
1 Length delivery outside off. Bates cuts it to gully for a single.
19.2 J Jonassen to S Bates
0 Drags the length back outside off. Bates makes room and looks to cut but gets the inside edge of the bat onto the pitch.
