3:30 PM IST, 21:00 Local Time: The match swung like a pendulum and Sydney Thunder Women held their nerves, winning the high-scoring match by 8 runs. Sydney Thunder Women climb to the top of the table after winning this match.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Sydney Thunder Women posted a mammoth 204/4 in 20 overs, which is the highest total for Thunder in WBBL history. Tahlia Wilson and Chamari Athapaththu spearheaded the innings for the Thunder, and the duo scored at a rapid pace from the word go and went on to add 102 runs for the first wicket, with Athapaththu departing for 58 runs. Phoebe Litchfield and Heather Knight contributed 17 and 38 runs, respectively, while Wilson continued her merry ways and remained unbeaten on 83 runs off 54 balls, helping her side post a mammoth 204/4 in 20 overs. Nicola Hancock and Courtney Sippel celebrated a couple of wickets each for Heat Women.

In pursuit of a mammoth 204 runs, Brisbane Heat lost Grace Harris for a mere 5 runs off 7 balls. Georgia Redmayne and Amelia Kerr started building the partnership in the middle, and their budding partnership was halted by Sammy-Jo Johnson, who trapped Redmayne for 29 runs and halted their progress.

Amelia Kerr and Mignon du Preez joined forces in the middle, and the duo scored at a decent pace to keep the run rate in check. However, Darlington trapped Amelia for 41 runs and put the Heat in a spot of bother. Georgia Voll joined du Preez in the middle but lost her wicket in the form of a run-out. On the other hand, du Preez notched up her half-century but failed to bat till the end, departing for 61 runs in the penultimate over of the innings. Charli Knott (28* off 12) and Jess Jonassen (15* off 6) played a cameo at the cue end of the innings, but it was a tad late for them as they fell 8 runs short of the target.

Hannah Darlington extracted a couple of wickets for Thunder but conceded 53 runs in her 4-over quota. Marizanne Kapp and Sammy-Jo Johnson contributed one wicket.

The Sydney Thunder have clinched a nerve wrecking thriller here by the barest of margins. They win by 8 runs.
