So, that's it from this game and we come to the end of another double header in LPL 2023. We will be back tomorrow with another double header tomorrow. Join us then and stick around to our network for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash alongside scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Stay safe, happy, and cool, Goodnight and CHEERS!
Kusal Mendis (Dambulla AURA Captain): "Yes, I think the pitch is good today and loved playing on it. Nothing in particular but if anyone needs a break, we will give that. I am not worried about my form and I am looking forward to the next games. Yes, would have loved to contribute more, but T20 is a funny game where the form goes up and down and hope to do well in the coming games."
Niroshan Dickwella (Colombo Strikers Captain): "I think we did really well till the 15th over and after that, I missed a chance and they couldn't execute well in the death overs. We dropped a few chances in the game earlier, and that cost the game us, and even today I missed a chance. I think it was 20 runs too much. In this game and the last game, we didn't do really well, but as a unit, we did really well, we chased down 180 and we almost chased down 190."
Ben McDermott (Player of the Match): "It was a challenging to start with. It was run a ball and then kicked on from there was nice. It was a challenging wicket and we had to bat through the end. Ross batted till the end. We just wanted to be there till over 15 and score much more at the back end of the innings. Glad we did that."
11:09 PM IST & Local Time: Time for the post-match presentation.
11:03 PM: A tame performance from Colombo Strikers comes to an end as they have been blown away by 50 runs by Dambulla Aura. Dambulla were in trouble early on but recovered to outplay their opponents in all facets of the game. Dambulla with this win go top of the table and guarantee themselves a top-2 finish in the points table.

Chasing 167 for the win, Colombo Strikers never got going and it was a miserable batting display. Pathum Nissanka scored 12. Babar Azam went for 11. Skipper Niroshan Dickwella scored 17 off 6 balls. Nuwanidu Fernando scored  21 off 20 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed scored a painstaking 18 off 26 balls while Mohammad Nawaz was equally miserable in his 20 off 24 balls. The innings fell away at the end as they were bowled out for 116 in 19.4 overs. 10 extras were given by the fielding side.

A disciplined bowling performance from Dambulla AURA bowlers. Hasan Ali was having fun out there picking up 3 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Binura Fernando, Noor Ahmad, and Dushman Hemantha and a wicket for Janith Liyanage. They all kept it tight and gave nothing away with the ball. A listless batting display by Colombo Strikers to say the least.

Earlier in the game, Dambulla Aura did not have it all their way after they won the toss and decided to bat first. The top order was blown away by the Strikers bowlers and they were in real strife at 46/4 at one stage. Dhananjaya de Silva was the only one who got to double figures among the top order batters.

But the innings was rescued by the Australian pair of Alex Ross and Ben McDermott. The duo put on 102 for the fifth wicket and changed the complexion of the match. McDermott was unbeaten on 69 off 46 balls while Alex Ross scored 52 off 38 balls. Hasan Ali was unbeaten in the end on 6* as Dambulla recovered from 46/4 to get to 166/5 in 20 overs. 13 extras were given by the fielding side.

Matheesha Pathirana picked up a couple of wickets for Colombo Strikers. A wicket apiece for Naseem Shah, Chamika Karunaratne, and Jeffrey Vandersay who was miserly in his spell and was the pick of the bowlers. Mohammad Nawaz was wicketless as always. It was a miserable day for the Strikers and their fans as they do down in this contest.

So, a win for Dambulla AURA by 50 runs and takes them to the top of the points table. Stay tuned for the presentations.
