Earlier, I said we didn't click with our batting, that's why we brought in Nishan Madushka as a cushion, and I feel we can do something special this year as well."

The defending champions come roaring back in the competition and climbs upwards in the points table. Colombo Strikers lost the plot with the bat and never really got going with ball in hand.
Chasing 147 for the win, Jaffna Kings got off to a great start courtesy their openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Nishan Madushka as the duo laid the platform for the win. Gurbaz scored 39 off 21 balls while Madushka top scored with 46 off 32 balls. Charith Asalanka scored 12. Skipper Thisara Perera scored a quickfire 17 off 7 balls. Towhid Hridoy was 14* off 9 balls while David Miller was with him when victory target was achieved in 14.3 overs. As many as 21 extras were given by the fielding side.
Naseem Shah was impressive once again for the Colombo Strikers with the ball picking up 2 wickets for 22 runs in 3.3 overs. A wicket for Matheesha Pathirana and Lakshan Sandakan. They lacked the penetration and could not quite defend the runs after a patchy batting performance.

They lost the plot in the middle overs and could not post a good enough total in the end.
