The pitch was slow and in T20S these things happen and we played well according to the conditions. Picked early wickets and I would prefer more pace on the wickets so that we can have an entertaining game. But happy with the bowling effort of everyone and glad to get the win. Thank you."

Earlier on, they were able to contain the Kings to just 129 runs. Their bowlers got wickets consistently and made the most of the pitch which was slower in nature. With the bat, Fernando and Mendis stitched a 76-run opening partnership to clear away most of the runs required. Fernando and Mendis were dismissed in quick time. But Samarawickrama and Perera took their time and got their side across the line eventually with 22 balls to spare.
The Kings' bowlers did not have much to play with. They were taken apart at the start by the Aura openers. Wellalage and Viyaskanth did get into the wickets, but it was never enough. The Kings could drag the game only till the 17th over but in the end, faced a crushing defeat. With this loss, they are stuck at the bottom of the points table. On the other hand, Aura get a massive boost to their net run rate and climb to the top of the ladder.
