That brings an end to our coverage for this game. The Perth Scorchers will face the Adelaide Strikers in the Knockout tomorrow. It promises to be another cracking contest. The winner of that clash will face the Brisbane Heat.

Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Raju Khariya. Tata. Bye Bye.
Ben Dwarshuis (Player of the Match): "It was pretty amazing. We got to a competitive total I thought and to go there and do our thing with the ball was good and get a chance to host the final.

The wicket was a bit two-paced. Variable bounce and we had the benefit of watching the Heat bowlers bowl. Learn from them and execute the plans.

Always nice to see the ball move. You don’t get that often in T20 cricket but it was nice.

We love our fans. They always turn up especially when we have a final and hopefully, we will lift another title."

5:20 PM IST, 9:50 PM Local Time: That’s it. The Sydney Sixers emerge victorious in this Qualifier of Big Bash League 2023-24. On the back of a fine knock from skipper Moises Henriques, the Sixers posted 152 on the board before their bowlers stepped up and defended it successfully. Sydney Sixers beat Brisbane Heat by 39 runs and book a place in the final. Brisbane Heat will have another chance as they will face the winner of the Knockout. For now, the Sixers can celebrate as they have reached their seventh final and will host it.

Chasing 153, Brisbane Heat got off to a steady start as the Sixers bowled well upfront. They didn’t allow the opening pair of Josh Brown and Jimmy Peirson to get away. Brown struggled at the crease and fell after scoring 15 off 22 balls. Peirson departed on 26 in the ninth over. Skipper Nathan McSweeney was joined by Matt Renshaw as Heat were 51/2 at the halfway mark of their innings.

Jack Edwards got the better of Heat skipper in the 11th over. Dwarshuis dismissed Matt Renshaw (16) and Paul Walter (0) on two consecutive deliveries to apply the brakes to the scoring rate of Heat. The Sixers kept picking wickets at regular intervals and knocked over Heat on 113 to win the game by 39 runs. Ben Dwarshuis was the standout bowler for the Sixers as he picked up a fifer, giving away only 21 runs in his 3.5 overs. These were his career best figures. Jack Edwards and Hayden Kerr grabbed two scalps each to help the Sixers defend the total successfully.

Earlier, Brisbane Heat elected to bowl first and did a fine job. They bowled brilliantly with the new ball and picked up two wickets inside the powerplay. Daniel Hughes along with his skipper Moises Henriques led the recovery work for the Sixers. Both built a solid partnership for the third wicket and kept Heat at bay. Henriques brought up his fifty off 40 balls and both started cutting loose. The pair of Hughes and Henriques put 94 between them before the former fell on 42.

Hughes’ departure helped Heat get back into the contest. They picked up regular wickets at the back end of the innings. Henriques departed on 59 and the Sixers lost all the momentum as they finished their innings on 152/8. Michael Neser picked up three scalps for Heat. Spencer Johnson and Paul Walter also chipped in with a couple of scalps to restrict the Sixers to 152. Their batters then faltered as they failed to chase it down and lost the game by 39 runs.
17.5 B Dwarshuis to M Kuhnemann
W In the air and taken. Ben Dwarshuis gets a fifer and that's the end of this fixture. Rolls his fingers on this one and bowls an off-cutter outside off, Kuhnemann shuffles across the stumps and scoops it in the fine leg region. O'Keefe was moved to the boundary before this ball. He moves in a few steps and takes a good catch by diving forward. With this, the Sydney Sixers beat Brisbane Heat by 39 runs and qualify for the final.
17.4 B Dwarshuis to M Kuhnemann
0 Another slower delivery on a length on the stumps, Kuhnemann shuffles and looks to scoop it over short fine leg but misses.

4 Four more. Edwards with a length delivery outside off, Swepson premeditates as he shuffles across to the off side and ramps it in the vacant fine leg region for another boundary. Swepson is having some fun here
16.5 J Edwards to M Swepson
4 FOUR!!!! Full and right in the slot on the stumps, Swepson gives himself some room and lifts it straight back over the bowler's head for a boundary. Was hit straight as an arrow and the long on fielder has no chance of stopping this one.
16.4 J Edwards to M Kuhnemann
1 Fuller delivery on the pads and Kuhnemann flicks it to mid wicket for a quick single
