That's it from the live action of the 33rd game in Big Bash League 2023/24. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Wali Siddique and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Jake Weathearld (Player of the Match): "The batters have been going so well but Lynn's hamstring injury gave me an opportunity and I turned up. Strikers have been awesome to me and they've supported me throughout. You have got to take the opportunities that you get. Me and Dooley are close, I've faced him so much in the past that it worked in my favour. We've got a strong side that can push to the finals, the bowling and batting attack are doing well. We've got the ingredients to go the distance."
4:09 PM IST, 10:09 PM Local Time: Adelaide Strikers defeat Hobart Hurricanes by 8 wickets in an entertaining contest at the Bellerive Oval. The Strikers won the bat flip and elected to bowl first managing to restrict the hosts for 167/6 in 20 overs.

Playing without Chris Lynn, the Strikers openers Matthew and D'Arcy Short started off in good fashion adding 57 runs for the 1st wicket in 6.3 overs. D'Arcy was the first to depart with Nikhil Chaudhary taking the wicket and 6 balls later Chris Jordan dismissed Matthew for 39 in 25 deliveries.

Jake Weatherald took the crease at number 3 in the 7th over and started hammering the bowlers to all over the park and beyond. His unbeaten 80 off just 32 balls included 9 fours and 5 maximums. Adam Hose hit just a six in his unbeaten 25 in 21 balls to guide the visitors to win.

Jordan (1/33) picked up a wicket but was very expensive in his 3 overs with Patrick Dooley with his unorthodox action being taken to the cleaners for 53 runs in 2.5 balls where he conceded 5 fours and 4 maximums.

Nikhil Chaudhary opened the bowling and conceded 18 in his 3 overs picking up the first wicket but failed to get similar support from the other end resulting in an 8-wicket defeat with 25 deliveries to spare.
15.5 P Dooley to J Weatherald
6 SIX MORE!! AND THAT'S THAT!! Jake Weatherald finishes it off in style as Dooley flights the ball at middle. Weatherald goes down one knee and powers this well over the fence with a spectacular slog-sweep over deep mid-wicket. Clean hitting of the highest order to say the least.
15.4 P Dooley to J Weatherald
6 SIX RUNS!! THAT'S INTO THE SECOND TIER! Dooley flights the ball at middle and that's been cross batted with utmost might for the second maximum of the over.
15.3 P Dooley to A Hose
1 Slides this at off from around the stumps. Slightly full and its' been punched to deep cover for one run.
15.2 P Dooley to J Weatherald
1 Back of a length, drifts it down leg and that's been clipped to deep square-leg for one run.
15.1 P Dooley to J Weatherald
6 SIX RUNS!! Dooley from over the stumps. Loops the ball at middle and Weatherald goes hard at it as he smashes deep into the stands at the cow-corner for yet another maximum. What a performance this has been so far.
Wali to take us through the end of the game which seems near. 19 required in 30 balls. Dooley returns to the attack.
