17:20 PM IST, 22:20 Local Time IST: So that's that from our end and what a thriller this turned out to be. Spectacular big hitting from the get go as we hope for more such action in the BBL as we roll forward.

Until then, do take good care of yourselves, as this is Wali Siddiqui, AkshayaKrishna Polya and Paras Yadav signing off!
Matthew Short (Player of the Match): "I was so nervous, thinking about a Super Over. Yeah, maybe, it was tactical to bring Hosey (Hose) back in the strike. He was hitting them cleanly, and it was fun seeing him batting. To hit a boundary, every ball was brilliant. Hosey (Hose) battled beautifully. He deserved the finishing. Awesome to get the win. We love the crowd here, and it was nice to play in front of them. I wanted a good hit out in the middle, and it came off in front of this lovely crowd. Both teams played and got great to get over the line. I mean, this was a good wicket and no offence on Alex Ross' comments (on saying this pitch was a belter). Probably, 200 was just around the par score. We would love it if BBL hosted as many games as possible here. It's fun playing here. It will be awesome for the rest of the tournament."

17:10 PM IST, 22:10 Local Time: With that, it's the Adelaide Strikers that have secured an emphatic win after chasing down 200 with seven wickets and two balls to spare! It was an enthralling contest to say the lease but eventually, the Strikers ended up scoring 205/5 from 19.4 overs as it turned out to be a run feast.

Sydney Thunder set a massive target for Adelaide Strikers after they won the bat flip and opted to bat.

Alex Hales 18 (7) and Cameron Bancroft started off in quickfire manner before Matthew Short got Hales bowled. Jamie Overton followed it up with another quick wicket as Matthew Gilkes was sent back for golden duck in the very next over.

Bancroft and Oliver Davies 32 (17) took things forward and managed to accumulate a 54 run partnership for the third wicket before Cameron Boyce got the better of Davies.

Alex Ross and Bancroft stringed 82 runs for the 4th wicket and provided their side with the platform to post a big total. Ross 46 (26) struck three fours and two sixes for his innings, while it was Bancroft 74 (54) who stood out from the very start as he ended up topping the charts for his side.

Nathan McAndrew's 22 (10) breezy cameo got Sydney Thunder to 200/7 in 20 overs.

For Adelaide Strikers, David Payne and Overton bagged two wickets apiece, meanwhile, Matthew Short, Wes Agar, and Cameron Boyce picked a wicket each.

As for the run chase, the Strikers started off in a scintillating manner with the bat. The duo of Matthew Short and D’Arcy Short went out all guns blazing from the very first over.

The first 10 overs of the second innings led to 104 runs for no wickets. Matthew Short (82 off 41) was more of an aggressor out there in the middle as the skipper smashed five fours and six sixes.

Matthew Short was eventually dismissed by Tanveer Sangha as he top edged one to point. The opening partnership was broken after 139 runs were scored from 12.5 overs.

D’Arcy Short 66 (47) also looked in sublime form as he struck six fours and a couple of sixes before getting sent back by Daniel Sams. Chris Lynn 14 (17) was bowled by a peach of a yorker by Zaman Khan as the pressure was back on the Strikers. However, it was then the Adam Hose 28 (9)* show as he ensured to finish the innings in style that got their side maximum points in what was a spectacular run chase.

Eight runs were required off the final over, Jake Weatherald 5 (4) was run out of the first ball but Hose with nerves of steel struck a boundary, followed by two runs and a huge six to win the game.

For Thunder, it was a forgetful day with the ball as the trio of Daniel Sams, Tanveer Sangha and Zaman Khan managed to get just one wicket each.

Although, the game went down the wire, Thunder failing to break the opening stand is what eventually cost them. That being said, it's still early doors in the BBL and we can expect Sydney Thunder to bounce back as the move forward.

19.4 Z Khan to A Hose
6 SIXXXXX!!!! Adam Hose is the man for Adelaide Strikers! He finishes things off in style, and the crowd at Adelaide Oval go up loud. Christmas arrives early for the Strikers as they thump Sydney Thunder in a big run-chase! Fuller-length delivery outside off. Hose gets down on one knee, gets underneath its bounce and whacks it down the ground. He doesn't quite get the lofted hit off the middle of the bat, but he has plenty of wood on it to see the ball sail over the head of the bowler and clear the straight boundary for a maximum.
2 of 3 now!
19.3 Z Khan to A Hose
2 Adam Hose backs away way too early to make room. On seeing it, Hose follows the batter and angles a yorker at his boots. Hose does well to get his bat down in time and jam it off the inside edge to the backward square leg region.
4 required of 4 now!
19.2 Z Khan to A Hose
4 FOURRRRR!!! Adam Hose releases the pressure with a boundary. Run-a-ball is required now for Adelaide Strikers. He is batting brilliantly and executing these scoops really well. Length delivery outside off. Hose shuffles across outside off and this time, decides to go with the reverse scoop and plays it fantastically well as he bisects the keeper and short third man for fun.
An appeal for a run-out and the third umpire has a decision to make. Zaman Kha throws the ball back to the stumps at the non-strikers end and Weatherald for some reason fails to ground his bat and he's out as a result of that.
19.1 Z Khan to J Weatherald
W Zaman Khan to bowl the final over here at the Adelaide Oval. Over the wicket. Good length at the stumps. Weatherald backs away and goes really hard at the across the line swing of the bat, getting an inside edge back onto his pads. The ball rolls to the right of the bowler, and Zaman Khan is quick to get across, slides, picks up the ball and hits the bull's eye at his own end, with the batters wanting to rotate the strike with a single. Replays show that Weatherald was lazy and didn't ground his bat as he is well short of his crease. OUT! Poor cricket all around from Weatherald, and this could change the game's dimensions!
Three crucial boundaries struck in that over and it's now 8 required off 6!

18.6 N McAndrew to A Hose
4 FOUR MORE!!! Back-to-back fours from Hose to end the Power Surge in favour of his side! Length ball, a slower one at the stumps. Hose gets down on one knee and gets inside the line again to play the Suryakumar Yadav Supla Stroke and executes it well. Picks it early and whips it over short fine leg off the top edge, getting a good result of four runs.
18.5 N McAndrew to A Hose
4 FOURRRR!!! Good come back from Hose! Plays and executes the scoop again! Short of a length angling in around the off-stump. Hose shuffles across outside off, gets inside the line and scoops it well over short fine leg for an important boundary.
