Milestone
Time to conclude our coverage from the 2nd T20 between England and Pakistan. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on the behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash, Arijit Kundu, Ajay Pal Singh and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Good night!
Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Yeah a good day on the field. We wanted to get the win and proud of the team the way they played. You always want to play well.

Yeah, felt nice how I got a few of the middle of the bat so feeling nice going into the World Cup.

You can see the emotions. Good to see him (Jofra Archer) back and taking wickets for England again. A little bit of both, you want to get games out of him but at the same time you want to give him some rest as well.

Our spinners bowled well and those two overs from Chris Jordan at the death were excellent."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: JOS BUTTLER
Babar Azam(Pakistan Captain)- "Our bowlers bowled very well. But I think we were not good in batting. We needed some partnerships and we failed there. Fakhar batted well.

Our top four is flexible and we decide it before every match or series. Our players are in a good touch. The way Fakhar dominated the bowlers was impressive. I think if my partnership with Babar lasted long, we would have been on the other side.

Imad is a very clever bowler. He reads the batters' mind well and bowls accordingly. He has improved a lot in batting too. We don't have much concern with Shadab. He is one of the best of us.

Our team is more or less settled ahead of the world cup."

10:23 PM IST, 5:53 PM Local Time | That's it, England go 1-0 up in the four-match series. A clinical performance by the hosts and Pakistan fell 23 runs short of the target. A good comeback game for Jofra Archer and Reece Topley's 3/41 helped England get over the line.

Earlier, England, after being sent into bat by Pakistan, posted 183/7. Phil Salt failed to get a big one despite getting a start but England skipper Jos Buttler got a big score under his belt as he made 84 off 51.

Will Jacks looked dangerous during his knock of 37 off 23 but he wasn’t able to read the change in pace from Haris Rauf and lost his wicket in a bid to accelerate the scoring.

Jonny Bairstow played a scratchy knock of 21 off 18. Shaheen Afridi took two late wickets, removing Moeen Ali and Buttler in the 19th over to bring Pakistan back in the contest. He finished with figures of 3 for 36. Imad Wasim and Rauf picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Pakistan got off to the worst possible start as Mohammad Rizwan fell without troubling the scorers in the first over.

Moeen Ali gave England the first breakthrough. Pakistan captain Babar Azam (32 off 26) looked good during his stay in the middle but he too perished without converting his start into a big one.

Saim Ayub had another failure with the bat as he fell for just two runs after facing seven deliveries. Fakhar Zaman fought well, scoring 45 runs off 21 balls. However, the increasing required run-rate added too much pressure on him and he perished while trying to take down Reece Topley.

Cameos from Iftikhar Ahmed (23 off 17) and Imad Wasim (22 off 13) kept Pakistan in the hunt but in the end they fell 23 runs short of the target.
THAT'S THE GAME!!!! England have won it by 23 runs.
19.2 R Topley to S Afridi
W WICKET! Afridi holes out at deep mid-wicket and Topley puts the final nail in the coffin! Pakistan are bundled out for 160 runs and with that England win by 23 runs to go 1-0 up in the 4-match series! Full-length delivery at the stumps. Afridi clears his front leg and slogs across the line. Initially, it looked like he had connected it nicely but it wasn't the case as the ball flew towards deep mid-wicket and Salt in the deep, moved to his left and took a good catch. Men in red start their World Cup preparation on a high note, while the men in green need to address a few areas before the global event.
19.1 R Topley to S Afridi
2 Over the wicket. 127 kph. Full-length delivery at the leg stump line. Afridi clears his front leg and whips it off the cue end of the bat to mid-wicket for a couple of runs.
Pakistan need 26 more from the final over. Mathematically it is looking possible but it is onerous for Shaheen-Rauf. Reece Topley to bowl the final over.

18.6 C Jordan to S Afridi
1 Yorker on the middle stump line. Afridi drills it down to long-off for a single to end the over. Pakistani fans have started to leave the stadium now.
18.5 C Jordan to H Rauf
1 Back of a length slower delivery a shade outside off. Rauf hoicks across the line but gets it off the toe end of the bat towards point for one.
18.4 C Jordan to H Rauf
2 Low full toss on the stumps. Rauf drills it down to long-on and Archer in the deep moves to his left and dives across to save a couple of runs.
