A billion dreams have been shattered while a few have been fulfilled. India did dominate the whole World Cup, even Australia, earlier in the tournament but completely failed to replicate the same when it mattered the most. Plenty of stars, plenty of talented players and a plenty of memorable performances from various players. Close games and dominated games as well. We have seen everything, and in the end, it's the Mighty Australia who win the World Cup for the record 6TH time... Congratulations to Australia, they have played excellently. It will be hard for the Indian fans yet again, but that is how it goes. You have to wake up tomorrow and resume your duties! The Men in Blue have to tur up again and stand tall in the games to come and years to come.

Let's wrap up the coverage from our side! I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide, Sidharth Gulati, Arijit Kundu, Ayan Chatterjee, Hitesh Peddurwar, Deepak Prakash and Saptak Sanyal, who alongside our scorers/analysts Zeeshan Naiyer and Raju Khariya were blessed to bring you all the live-action of this GRAND FINALE of the ICC CRICKET WORLD CUP 2023! Stay tuned to our network for the games across the globe. We will meet again in another game of cricket. Until then, its cheers!

It's Time for the Honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi and the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Mr Richard Marles, to come to the podium. They shake hands with the Australian skipper Pat Cummins before handing over the WORLD CUP to the winning team's captain. Pat Cummins poses for the photograph, and the crackers go up in Ahmedabad. A huge moment for Cummins as a skipper.

Mr Modi and Mr Marles shake hands with all the players before the Champions get together to celebrate the moment. It will go on and on forever!
Pat Cummins (Australia Captain): "Yeah. That's it. I think we saved our best for the last. A couple of big match players stepped up.

We were tossing it up. We were batting first for the most part of the tournament. We thought the wicket would get better as the game progressed. It didn't spin. Everyone adjusted well and bowled nice lines and lengths.

On a slow wicket like that, there is a variable bounce. A few catches in the leg side and try some luck. They were desperate for sure. It started last week against South Africa. It's an ageing side but we really stepped up.

Really chuffed with 240. Anything under 300 would have been nice and would have been good to chase on that wicket.

Marnus walked in with a cool head. Travis does what he does the best. To take on the bowling in the biggest of stage is incredible. The selectors backed him despite a broken head. Also, the medical team to bring him back and he is an absolute legend and I couldn't be more happier.

I was happy that it was silence for most part of our bowling. There were a couple of moments when they roared and it was really loud. When you looked up, there were people wearing blue shirts. It was an amazing atmosphere.

(Message to the group after losing the first two games) You gotta go and win the World Cup. You can't wait for things to happen. We made the change. The openers stepped up and scored at a good rate. The bowlers did a fine job as well.

Crazy. This year will be the one that will be remembered for a long time. I spent most of the winter away from home but it is great to get the win."
Now, it's time for Australia to collect the winner's medal from ICC Chairman Greg Barclay.

We will start with Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa and the Captain Pat Cummins.
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Yes, I mean look, the result has not gone our way. We were not good enough today. Wasn't meant to be today.

Honestly, we were 20-30 short. Virat, KL batted well and stitched a good partnership but we lost wickets at regular intervals and lost the plot. They did that and stitched a great partnership.

We went for wickets in the end at 47/3 but they did bat well and took the game away from us.

The wicket got better as the game went on. But that is not an excuse for this loss. We did not bat well enough and deserved to lose the game today. Great campaign and proud of the boys in the end. Thank You."
Now, time for the Runners Up India to collect their medals from Mr. Jay Shah.

Starting with Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli, Prasidh Krishna, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav and the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.
PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT- VIRAT KOHLI (collects the award from Roger Binny)

For his consistent run throughout the tournament, scoring 765 runs in 11 innings with three centuries and six fifties.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH IN THE WORLD CUP FINAL- Travis Head (Sachin Tendulkar rewards him)
The Match Officials come to the podium and collect their rewards. First, it's the match referee Andy Pycroft and following him, the on-field umpires- Richard Illingworth and Richard Kettleborough. Time to reward the TV umpire Joel Wilson and the fourth umpire Chris Gaffaney as well.
9:59 PM IST and Local Time: We are all set for the post-match presentation at the Narendra Modi Stadium...
