That's it from this game where the Dutch outplayed Bangladesh in Kolkata. Don't go too far away as we will be back with the big India vs England game in Lucknow. Do join us for that and for all other fixtures around the globe, stick around to our network for all the action across formats.
For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash and Anirudh Modi. Special mentions to AkshayaKrishna Polya and Ninaad Dixit for chipping towards the latter stages of the match. Thanks to our scorer Raju Khariya for providing us with the scoring. We will meet again in the next match. Until next time, CHEERS from us.
Scott Edwards (NetherlandsCaptain): "It was a little bit easier to be fair and two days off. We forgot that performance and trained hard and got into the game. Worked out perfectly.
Was speaking to a couple of guys. Was aiming at 220+. I got out at the wrong time. But the lower order got us there.
The bowling unit is delivering and we were awesome. Aryan Dutt, Logan all were good. The team getting better and the system is getting better. The fielding was good as well.
This win means a lot for us. We will try and win games and our goal is to be in the semis. The goal looks tricky but we will try and win more games and be right up there. Proud of the lads performance."

Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): "I think we bowled really well. We were sloppy in the field. We should have restricted them, looking at the position they were in, under 160-170. 230 on this track with a fast outfield, we bowled really well. We are very poor with the bat throughout this tournament. This is as bad as it gets.
3 more big games to come. We have to pick ourselves to finish the tournament on a high but it is very difficult. We have to move forward, take this on our chin and look forward to the next game.
Throughout this tournament we've been struggling big time. Not sure what's going on in our mind. Every individual is different. It's very unlike us, the way we play.
The fans have been supporting us through the ups and downs and I hope they will keep on supporting us whatever happens on the game. We are hopeful that there will be a big turnaround on the 31st."
Paul van Meekeren (Player of the Match):"Pretty special. We said we wanted to go for the semis, you need to win games. Very happy with how we bounced back after Australia.
We were pretty confident. At the halfway mark of our innings, we thought 230-240 [par score], and we got there.
Dutt and van Beek kept it very tight in the first ten overs. Every training, we come in and do 20 minutes of fielding.
Bassy [Bas de Leede] got a good throw at the stumps tonight. Hard to pick an individual performance. Pure team performance."
Paul van Meekeren is the player of the match!
9:22 PM IST and Local Time: A comprehensive win for Netherlands as they outplay Bangladesh by 87 runs to notch up their second win of the competition. They have played better out cricket than Bangladesh and deserve the win in Kolkata on a pitch that was tricky for the batters. Bangladesh slide to another loss in this tournament.
Chasing 230 on a challenging surface, Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals and were never in the chase. Litton Das fell early while Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored 15. Mehidy Hasan Miraz looked good for his 35 off 40 balls before he fell. Mahmudullah Riyad scored 20. Mahedi Hasan scored 17. Paul van Meekeren was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/23 in 7.2 overs. A couple of wickets for Bas de Leede while Aryan Dutt, Logan van Beek, and Colin Ackermann picked up a wicket apiece. Netherlands deserve this win.
Earlier in the game, Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost early wickets and were in some strife. The openers went early. Wesley Barresi played well for his 41 off 41 balls. Colin Ackermann got into double figures. But it was skipper Scott Edwards who led from the front and scored a magnificent 68 off 89 balls. Bas de Leede scored 17. Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 35 off 61 balls. Logan van Beek played a good cameo of 23 off 16 balls. 12 extras given by the fielding side as the Dutch finished with 229 in 50 overs.
Bangladesh bowlers bowled well. A couple of wickets apiece for Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Mahedi Hasan. A wicket for skipper Shakib Al Hasan as well. Mehidy Hasan Miraz ended wicketless. Bangladesh bowled well but their batting let them down in the end.
So, the Dutch wins by 87 runs to climb upwards in the table. Bangladesh's losing run continues. Stick around for the presentations.
W GONE!! HISTORY IS MADE FOR THE NETHERLANDS! THEY HAVE THEIR MOST SUCCESSFUL CAMPAIGN IN THE HISTORY OF WORLD CUP! SOUTH AFRICA AND NOW THE BANGLADESH SIDE!! WHAT A CHAMPION TEAM THIS IS IN THE MAKING! Van Meekeren bangs it short on the stumps, invites Taskin to go for the pull. The left handed batter takes the invite and pulls it in front of square but ends up hitting it straight in the hands of Bas de Leede placed at the midwicket fence!
42.1 Meekeren to T Ahmed
0 Over the wicket. Good length on the leg stump, Taskin swings hard clearing his front leg. Looks to pull but gets it off the toe end of the bat back down the pitch.
