Milestone
South Africa wrapped their fourth massive win, and time now to forget that hiccup against Netherlands. The Proteas climb the ladder up to the second place, just below the hosts India. Bangladesh have plenty to ponder as they head into the second half of the tournament.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Akshay Bhide, who, alongside our scorers/analysts Zeeshan Naiyer and Raju Khariya, brought you all the live-action of this exciting contest from Wankhede. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!

World Cup hundreds for Bangladesh:

Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "Cheers, it was another good day Mark Nicholas. Tough to grind up till the end, but it is how you have to deal with it. It was a good day at the end of it all.

Not necessarily (on death bowling)! The guys have worked really hard at the death. It is not that you practice in the game. Sometimes you need to work it out whether to go for death overs or not.

Mahmudullah got in and played very well. We went death and there were some good signs, even if one or two were missed.

See, what Quinny (Quinton de Kock) has done was superb. Then Klaasen comes in and smashes it. Everyone in the team approaches it quite differently. Despite it, they get it down quite nicely.

We keep striving for big performances.
Not necessarily, again, chasing is not a problem. It's something you can't take for granted, and we won't do that. We have had a chat. See, it's just the things that have gone for us. The more you win batting first, the more you lean that way. But once we get one chase under the belt, and the blueprint, then hopefully, we'll be a good team at chasing.

Yeah, Temba improved a lot. Coming into this game, we just didn't think that he was ready for it. So as a precautionary measure, we kept him out. Hopefully, against Pakistan, our next game, Temba should make a comeback."
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): "Yes. I thought we bowled well in the first 25 overs. We picked up three wickets and they scored 125 runs. But since then, they took off. Quinton played really well and we didn't have any answer to Klaasen for the way he finished. We conceded the most runs. But we would have bowled well and the last 10 overs made the difference.

There has been a lot of talk about Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah's batting numbers. Everyone is saying they should bat up the order but they are doing their job perfectly and the top-order batters will have to step up.

They are one of the contenders for sure. At this moment, India, New Zealand and South Africa look like the favorites to lift the title. But in these types of tournaments, anyone come up and win the title.

A lot to learn. There is a Champions Trophy and that is important for us. We have to keep learning and improving. We are not playing like we have to but I will keep confidence in my players.
Quinton de Kock (Player of the Match): "Yeah. I think to be honest, I'm too tired than satisfied. It was a great hit out with the guys and happy to get two points.

To be honest, not too sure. It's about the inexperience earlier but a bit matured now. I was a little bit nervous this morning. I'm not like one of those guys who don't get nervous at all. But really happy to score after being nervous earlier.

Klaasen is really special. Don't know what he is doing. But he has been great for us in the last 12 months and I'm really happy for him."

10:06 PM IST and Local Time: South Africa, with another clinical performance, came on top in the battle of Men in Greens! Bat first, score big and pick wickets under lights- the tactics seem to be working brilliantly for the Proteas in this World Cup! They win by a massive margin of 149 runs and win back-to-back games at Wankede by huge margins. Unlike England, Bangladesh showed some fight, at least, by Mahmudullah Riyad!

South African stand-in skipper Aiden Markram won the crucial toss and decided to bat first. Temba Bavuma was again on the sidelines, while Shakib Al Hasan came back to lead Bangladesh. However, the Tigers made a solid start, removing the two half-centurions from the previous game, Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen, cheaply well inside the first Powerplay and showed some raw emotions and dance moves. The celebration came in way too early, as it was just the calm before the storm.

Quinton de Kock started off cautiously and slowly picked up his pace, notching up his 3rd World Cup hundred. QDK became the youngest South African with 20 ODI centuries and the first Protea to hit 3 tons in one edition of this marquee event. de Kock was involved in consecutive 100+ partnerships and pushed the Bangla Tigers into deep waters. He added 131 runs for the 3rd wicket with Markram and 142 runs for the 4th wicket with Heinrich Klaasen. While the first partnership set the platform, the second took the game away from the opposition.

Quinton de Kock hammered a breathtaking 174 runs from 140 balls, hitting 15 fours and 7 sixes, to make his 150th ODI appearance more special. While Markram blasted 60 off 70 balls, Klaasen was simply outstanding with his 90 from just 49 balls, falling 10 short of his second blistering ton. David Miller gave the finishing blow and, alongside Klaasen, stitched 65 runs for the 5th wicket. Killer Miller remained unbeaten at 34 from just 15 balls as South Africa posted 382/5 in 50 overs. Most of the bowlers were taken to the cleaners, but wickets were shared between Hasan Mahmud, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shakib Al Hasan and Shoriful Islam.

Needing a mountain to climb, Bangladesh started off watchfully for the first 6 overs, adding 30 runs. Once Marco Jansen got consecutive wickets in the 7th over, the procession of the Bangla Tigers just began. Lizaad Williams, KG Rabada and Gerald Coetzee picked wickets in a hurry and reduced Bangladesh to 81/6 in 22 overs.

Mahmudullah stranded at one end and kept fighting for his country. A couple of lower-order batters gave the senior pro handy support. Riyad was involved in partnerships of 41, 37 and 68 runs alongside Nasum Ahmed (19 off 19), Hasan Mahmud (15 off 25) and Mustafizur Rahman (11 off 21) for the 7th, 8th and 9th wickets, respectively. Mahmudullah (111 off 111) managed to get past his 3rd ODI World Cup century, a moment that every Bangladeshi would be proud of.

His century took Bangladesh to a respectable total, with them finally getting bundled out for 233 in 46.4 overs. Jansen (2/39), Williams (2/56), Coetzee (3/62), Rabada (2/42) and Maharaj (1/32) shared wickets amongst themselves and complemented the efforts of their batters in a great manner!

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations!
46.4 L Williams to M Rahman
W High in the air, Miller calls for it and grabs it safely. He doesn't drop many and with this, South Africa take the points. This was a short delivery from Williams on the stumps, Rahman makes room and goes for the pull but gets a top edge in the off side. Miller at covers calls for it, moves to his left and takes a good catch with a reverse cup. A solid all-around performance from South Africa as they beat Bangladesh by 149 runs.
