Match Details
3:41 AM IST, 6:11 PM Local Time: After a fabulous display of bowling by the Wolves it was a destructive batting display by the top-order which lead to the opening victory for the Brampton Wolves as they thrash down Mississauga Panthers by 44 runs (DLS method).
The weather became bad in the later part of the game and by the mutual decision between both the captains and the Umpires, the match was called off due to bad light.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first it was a clinical performance with the ball by the Wolves which restricted the Panthers to 121 after the 20 overs. The powerplay overs were dominated by the Wolves as they took out their top three batters within 5 overs. The rescue partnership came between Azam Khan and Navneet Dhaliwal of 57 runs.
Azam Khan being the architect of the Mississauga Panthers innings played a handy knock of 65 runs in 55 deliveries. The lower-middle order of the Panthers tumbled up as they lost their last 6 wickets contributing only 41 runs on the board. The star bowler for Wolves was Logan van Beek who managed to take out 4 wickets giving way to only 12 runs in his 4-over spell. Chris Green took 2 wickets and Jay Frylinck took 1 wicket.
The chase was totally dominated by the Wolves as they changed up from the first over. Usman Kahn began the chase with a maximum and flagged off the chase. He got out to Zahoor Khan, the only wicket that the Wolves lost in the match. The domination of the Wolves' batting continued as Johnson and Chapman started to add runs fastly. Johnson quickly reached his 40s hitting 3 sixes and 5 fours. Chapman on the other end batted sensibly and rotated the strike well. The partnership between Chapman and Johnson of 76 runs was the whole talk of the match as they took their team to victory.
The match was later called off due to bad light but the Brampton Wolves were declared the winner of the match by 44 runs (DLS method).
