That’s a wrap from our side as well. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentators AkshayaKrishna PolyaPrince Suman, and Scorer/Analyst Zeeshan Naiyer, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. CHEERS!
Kieron Pollard (MI New York Captain): "We cannot do anything about the wicket. When we are batting, we should play straight shots and maintain a T20 approach. While bowling, we should vary the pace and use off-cutters. Talking too much about the pitch at a certain time becomes poisonous and has a negative impact.

It becomes very crucial. You see when we are playing here for the first time, our decisions sometimes backfire and end up affecting us. Yes, I spoke to my opener a few days ago about how to play and what approach to take. Today, they formed a good partnership that benefited our team."
Moises Henriques (Washington Freedom Captain): "Ah, back-to-back games are always difficult, we gave our best. The wicket did play better today but it wasn't the truest. The early powerplay advantage they gained made it difficult for us to recover from that position. The absence of Akeal and our keeper, along with losing Glenn as a fielder, were unfortunate setbacks that didn't work in our favor.

We are in the finals and we have a few days off, which should be good for us. We will get to learn more about the players and how teams shape up now."

Nicholas Pooran (Player of the match): "Yeah, really happy to contribute. The wicket was a bit challenging, being two-paced and tacky. However, once we managed to have a good powerplay, it certainly made things easier for us to execute our game plan effectively."
Power hitter of the day: Kieron Pollard (106m)
Play of the day: Nicholas Pooran
Monank Patel:"I am very happy that I contributed runs in this chase, and I want to carry this momentum into the next game as well. We had planned and executed it very well. We maintained a positive mindset. We came into the qualifier with good form. We were in a good touch, with a T20 approach to our batting mindset."
5:35 AM IST, 8:05 PM Local Time | Deepak: An emphatic performance by MI New York, as they thumped Washington Freedom by 8 wickets with 27 balls to spare to keep their hopes alive for the tournament. MI New York move to number three on the points table.

In pursuit of Washington Freedom’s 160 runs, MI New York got off to a rollicking start as both their openers, Shayan Jahangir and Monank Patel, started scoring at a brisk pace from the very first over and added 67 runs for the first wicket before Monank departed for 44 runs. Nicholas Pooran joined Jahangir at number three, and the duo continued the same approach to batting, helping MI complete 100 runs by the 10th over of the innings, but Jahangir departed after contributing 29 runs.

However, Pooran continued his merry ways as the southpaw paired up with skipper Pollard and went on to complete his half-century. With a flurry of boundaries, including three consecutive ones in the 16th over, Pooran ensured MI's triumph. Pollard also remained unbeaten on 21 runs off 10 balls, helping his side win the match comprehensively.

On the bowling front, Akeal Hosein and Dane Piedt extracted a wicket for Washington Freedom.

Stick around for the post-match presentation.
