That’s a wrap from our side as well. Nepal outshined USA and registered their first victory. Bhim Sharki's unbeaten innings guided Nepal to a remarkable victory. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Prince Suman, and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. CHEERS!
Rohit Paudel ( Nepal Captain):  "Happy with the team's performance. We achieved the victory we sought. Karan KC was really intelligent. He made excellent use of the circumstances. He and Lalit bowled quite effectively, which gave us a good start. The biggest input came from him (Rajbanshi), and that benefited Karan. Bhim batted exceptionally well, and Deepi da batted brilliantly as well. We intend to avoid repeating our errors against West Indies. We are all eagerly anticipating the game. We need to play our best cricket if we want everyone to contribute to that game."
Aaron Jones (United States Captain): "Wicket started laying better in the second innings, and we fought but obviously we didn't come out on top. Shayan played very well and I am very happy for him.

For me, I believe Nepal plays spin well, and the wicket was quite good. Yes, obviously still we lost the first two games we can still go through and qualify for the World Cup, we need to win every game and we will have to play very hard."
Karan KC( Player of the Match): " It was just the plan. I knew how to bowl if we won the toss, so that was good. The first spell was excellent. The ball was the right length for me and was performing adequately. Very significant victory; we need to win at least one of our next two games to secure a spot in the top six. The batters performed admirably. We watched from the outside as Sharki delighted in his batting."
7:52 PM IST | Deepak: After a grueling battle between the bat and the ball Nepal emerged as the victorious team, registering their first victory in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers. They thumped USA by 6 wickets with 42 balls to spare.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first USA faced a daunting challenge from Karan KC in the first powerplay and lost 4 wickets to Karan KC. They were reeling at 19/4 at the end of the first powerplay and had a nightmare start. Gajanand Singh and Sushant Modani then provided some stability to the innings, but it was Shayan Jahangir's exceptional innings that turned the tide for the team. Jahangir played a scintillating knock, showcasing his batting skills and reaching his maiden ODI century. His contribution helped the team reach a respectable total of 207 runs.

On the bowling front, Karan KC was the standout performer with the new ball, taking four wickets for just 33 runs in his nine overs. Gulshan Jha also made an impact with three wickets, while Dipendra Singh and Rajbanshi contributed with two and one wicket, respectively.

In response to USA’s 207 runs, Nepal lost Aasif Sheikh  for a mere 12 runs in the first powerplay. However, Kushal Bhurtel and Bhim Sharki formed a solid partnership and capitalized on the opportunities provided by the USA fielders and bowlers, who dropped catches and leaked runs consistently. Bhurtel, who had narrowly missed out on a century in the previous game against Zimbabwe, continued his impressive form.

Despite the dismissal of Kushal Bhurtel, Nepal's middle-order batsmen, including Rohit Paudel and Kushal Malla, made valuable contributions to stabilize the innings. However, Nisarg Patel managed to dismiss Paudel for 16 runs, breaking the budding partnership. Kushal Malla also departed after scoring a run-a-ball 13.

Nevertheless, Bhim Sharki found a reliable partner in Dipendra Singh Airee, and the duo took charge of the chase. They played with confidence and authority, ultimately guiding Nepal to victory. Sharki played a stellar innings, remaining unbeaten on 77 runs, while Airee provided valuable support with an unbeaten 39 runs.

On the bowling front, USA bowlers kept leaking runs at regular intervals and failed to save 207 runs. Saurabh Netravalkar, Nosthush Kenjige, Nisarg Patel, and Steven Taylor contributed one wicket each for USA.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations..
