Mitch Marsh (Australia captain): "Yeah, I thought we were in a great position and we sort of went for the kill there to try and get a few more wickets. But as we saw, we knew that coming into this series, they're a formidable team with some amazing cricketers who have really changed the game of T20 cricket. So we're on the wrong end of it tonight. Fair play to the West Indies.

But, yeah, we're lucky to have some great young players coming through the ranks. We'll go to New Zealand next week with a pretty full-strength team."
Rovman Powell (West Indies captain): "It feels fantastic to win here, especially against such a strong Australian team on their home turf. I give credit to my boys for their hard work. We had good plans throughout the series, but sometimes our execution faltered. We discussed not allowing them to score 240 in a T20 game, and it worked well.

I've got a lot of time off after this next series in New Zealand to sort of freshen up and go to the IPL before we embark on a World Cup in the Caribbean.

But, yeah, look, if I'm going to try and score and hit boundaries, especially big boundaries like here in Australia, that's something you have to work on. But we're going to the Caribbean. The boundaries aren't too big there, so it's something I will definitely work on in the nets, but I'll tackle that when it comes again.

Roston Chase: "We had a chat as a team, determined not to leave Australia without a win. The boys gave their all, and we achieved the victory we aimed for. I felt our score was solid. We agreed that if we won the toss, we'd bat first to set a target and pressure the Aussies, and it paid off. Warner is impressive, so getting his wicket feels great. We call him Superman. That 19th over shifted the game's momentum in our favor, changing the game's complexion."

In pursuit of a hefty 220 runs, Australia got off to a rollicking start as Mitchell Marsh and David Warner scored at a brisk pace from the word go, especially, Warner, and the pair added 68 runs for the first wicket, with Marsh departing for 17 runs.
Aaron Hardie joined Warner at number three but the right-hander struggled to score at a brisk pace and departed for run-a-ball 16 runs, while Warner continued his carnage and notched up his fifty on the occasion, but failed to convert it into a three-digit figure and fell prey to Roston Chase after scoring 81 runs.
Following the wicket of Warner, West Indies bounced back in the game and Aussie batters struggled to score at a brisk pace. Josh Inglis and Glenn Maxwell departed cheaply today and put the hosts in a spot of bother. Tim David played a rapid and unbeaten 41 runs off just 19 balls but it was too late by then as Australia were restricted to 183/5, falling 37 runs short of the target.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, West Indies got off to a shaky start as they lost three wickets inside the three overs, but despite losing three wickets, Roston Chase and Rovman Powell scored at a brisk pace from the word go and kept the scoreboard ticking at a decent pace. However, Zampa clean-bowled Chase for 37 runs and broke the budding partnership, while Powell fell prey to Hardie after scoring 21 runs, leaving his side in a spot of bother again.
Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell started the rescue mission, and the duo pummeled the Aussie bowlers all around the park and notched up their half-centuries in the process. Russell played a breathtaking knock of 29-ball 71 runs, while Rutherford remained unbeaten on 40-ball 67 runs. The dynamic duo of Russell and Rutherford helped the visitors post a hefty 220/6 in 20 overs.
The debutant, Xavier Bartlett, claimed a couple of wickets for Australia, while Jason Behrendorff, Spencer Johnson, Aaron Hardie, and Adam Zampa celebrated a solitary wicket.
