That brings us to the end of the coverage of this Qualifier 1 of the TNPL, between Lyca Kovai Kings and Dindigul Dragons. It was Lyca Kovai Kings Day tonight as they sneaked away with a victory and made their way into the Finals.

Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Hitesh Peddurwar signing off along with my co-commentator Arijit Kundu and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Until then stay safe ...
Shahrukh Khan(Lyca Kovai Kings Captain): " Yeah, I think the toss plays an important role but in the games like this the team which plays the better cricket wins the game. But the way they chased today, in the middle overs gave us a little scare but happy to be on the winning side. I think it's the trust that we show in the batters and as I said on the toss that we have stuck with the same team for more or less.

I think few players are with us for the last three years, we just ask them to go out and express themselves. I think we need to be just happy and keep the process going. I think we are not a result-oriented team, even if we would have lost the game, we would have kept the same processes continuing. I think these four days are going to be tough. We need to practice well and come hard for the finals."
Baba Indrajith (Dindigul Dragons Captain): " No regrets[to bowl first] We have dropped some important catches at times so it is important to come back in the game. We have also failed to gel up during crucial times. One of the areas we have to look at is the fielding. We are normal and in the last three-four games, we have seen some errors being repeated. But in the end, they were a better side.

Boopathi gave the impetus, but we needed one of the top-order batters should bat through the innings. That was one hell of a shot from him (Sarath Kumar), especially that switch hit."
B Sachin (Player of the Match): "Yeah, the team management and the captain motivated me a lot. I watched the videos of the previous games and made my mindset clear. My role in the team is to play till the end, my role is to anchor the innings till the 15th over and then score with brisk rate."
Player of the Match: B Sachin
Catch of the Match: M Mohammed
Most Sixes: C Sarath Kumar
Time for the presentation ceremony...
M Mohammed: "Quite happy. It has been a privilege to play under Shahrukh Khan. Everyone is very happy in the team. We were in awe when Sachin was striking the ball in that way. The team environment is great at the moment. Everyone's happy. The youngsters are stepping up in a lot of games. Happy want to pick more wickets [on fetching 50 TNPL wickets]."
22:56 IST| Lyca Kovai Kings triumphed over Dindigul Dragons by a commanding 30-run margin, securing their spot as the first team in this season's finals. Their exceptional performance throughout the game propelled them to a well-deserved spot in the championship match.

Earlier in the game, Dindigul Dragons 🐉 won the toss and invited Lyca Kovai Kings 👑 to bat first. The Kovai Kings made an explosive start, scoring a remarkable 57 runs during the powerplay while losing a couple of wickets in the process. However, B Sachin and U Mukilesh steadied the ship for the team during the middle overs. They took advantage of loose deliveries and maintained a brisk scoring rate. Together, they forged an impressive partnership of 82 runs for the 3rd wicket.

Mukilesh departed after contributing a valuable 44 runs to the team's total. B Sachin was then joined by Shahrukh Khan, and the duo continued to pile on the runs. Sachin displayed his batting prowess by unleashing a flurry of boundaries, eventually reaching a magnificent score of 70 runs off just 46 deliveries. With his powerful batting, Lyca Kovai Kings amassed a formidable total of 193 runs at the end of their allotted 20 overs.

On the bowling front, Subodh Bhati proved to be the standout performer for Dindigul Dragons. He was highly effective, claiming an impressive 4 wickets.

Chasing a daunting target of 194 runs, Dindigul Dragons had a disastrous start with only 41 runs in the powerplay and early wicket losses. Despite Subodh Bhati and C Sarath Kumar providing some entertaining moments with massive sixes, Dindigul Dragons continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Sarath Kumar's magnificent knock of 62 runs went in vain as his team fell short by 30 runs.

The bowlers of Lyca Kovai Kings performed exceptionally well, maintaining control over the scoring rate and putting pressure on the Dindigul Dragons. M Mohammed stood out with 3 wickets, while K Gowtham Thamarai Kannan and V Yudheeswaran claimed a couple of wickets each.

Stay tuned with us as we will be back with the post-match presentation ceremony.

4 STREAKY FOURRRR!! It can be a four but it's the Lyca Kovai Kings who cements a spot straight in the final. Agony for the Dragons but they still have another chance in Qualifier 2. Comes wide of the popping crease and angles it across the right-hander, outside the off-stick. Chakravarthy goes for the heave across the line and finds the outside edge etched on this case. The ball scurries fine of the short third man and goes on to kiss the boundary ropes.

19.5 V Yudheeswaran to Kumar
W WICKETTTT!! Straight and flat into the palms of Shahrukh Khan, the skipper of Kovai Kings. Full and around the fourth stump line. Kumar clears the front leg and goes for the whack. He fails to elevate it well and was more of a flat shot straight into the hand of long off. Another one bites the dust and some catching practice for the fielder.
19.4 V Yudheeswaran to Kumar
2 Full and around the fourth stump. Kumar mistimes the hoick towards the right of the long on region and by the time the fielder collects, the duo hurries for a second run.
19.3 V Yudheeswaran to Kumar
0 Full and outside the off stump line. Pace off from the bowler and the right-hander swings and misses.
